Power Labs cable that turns on the OEM engine bay lights when you push the rear defogger switch. $75 and 15 min install…added some orange Lexan film for the color.
I have 2 different LED lighting set up's in the engine bay..... both run off 2 separate stand alone 12v rechargeable small batteries. Can run for many hours without charging.
I added the LED Glow Plate rear window AFTER I had the engine bay LED strips in. Those 4 strips and controller came for Amazon for about $12......... The rear window Wind Restrictor Glow panel was significantly more $$$
I can run both at the same time if I wish, but I don't as it's overwhelming. The Wind Restrictor Glow Panel can be turned down in intensity. The pic shown is at full strength.
The last pic shows the Wind Restrictor panel during the daytime, with it turned off...... I still like seeing the etching.....

Here you go....... after 18 months, they are about the same price. They have held up perfectly !!!! There are 4 LED strips in this kit..... two of them are mounted on the angled rails facing the engine ... you can see them in the pic..... the other two are mounted on the wall OPPOSITE the rear window.... in other words, on the engine side, inside face of the trunk facing towards the engine. I then ran all the wires together through the driver side opening of the access panel to the air filter in the trunk. Just remove rubber gasket seal at the top, pull out the trunk carpet enough and a several screws holding the large access panel to the air cleaner..... I slid the wires through at the left side, and put the access panel back in place without crushing the wires where it passed through into the trunk. I then connect it up to the battery sitting in the lower sunk area of the drivers side trunk, when I want to use it. Easily controlled by the remote fob they give you too.
I run both my Glow Panel, as well as these engine bay LED's off of a small 12V rechargeable battery that is in the left sunken lower trunk pocket.

Wait, so you spliced the wire from the 12v plug and attach to a rechargeable 12v battery?
I left the cigarette lighter male end on the LED strip lights..... SIMPLE, clean and doesn't tie into the car's 12v system at all.
I bought one of these pig tails that has the 12 V cigarette adaptor female plug and cut off the eyelets and just crimped on some spade connectors that mate to the battery terminals...... THIS way, I can plug in the LED's into the battery to run it, AS WELL AS use my GM Corvette battery tender to charge up the battery occasionally. It even has an inline fuse in it too !!!
I used the EXACT same set up for the Wind Restrictor Glow Panel in the rear window..... since that is mounted on the INSIDE of the rear window, I didn't want to find a way to fish the wires through to the engine bay and then the trunk, so I just made up a whole other set up and the wires run down behind the waterfall ( phone charger) housing and down the carpet and come out under the passenger seat. The battery is just sitting on the carpet just under the front edge of the passenger seat. I can reach under a couple inches and slide the battery out to hook it up and turn it on. Simple, and again, keeps this totally out of the car's 12v system.
Since the LED's draw such a small amount of current, the small 12v batteries can be used for MANY hours, again and again, without needing a charge. When they do, I just plug in my GM battery tender to them and there is no need to change any connectors. Just plug and play !
I installed Oracle, 6 in the engine bay, 4 underneath and will finish the intakes in the side and front next weekend, ran out of time, lol. Using the RGB Bluetooth controller mounted next to the battery. I soldered and spliced everything together and ran the wiring under the panels and down the center tunnel.

The switch is only good if you have a harness and lights pre-installed as part of the engine appearance package. Otherwise, Powerlabs does sell a complete kit of OEm harness, clips, lights along with the switch. I installed the complete set-up. Just let him know if you have 1LT or 2/3LT the harnesses are different from the 1LT.
if you do have them installed already, I have an extra switch Incan let go of.
