Default Squeaky Parking brake???

MY driver side parking brake now squeals when I first take off and apply my brakes 5 or 6 times -then no more noise- Noticed there is a 1" wide slightly polished circle on driver side rear rotor that seems to be coming from parking brake caliper maybe sticking or not releasing properly. 2021 Z51 with only 2,000 miles - Anyone have any suggestions??

Are you releasing the Park Brake before driving off? If not, maybe it's glazing the pad. I'm fully aware that it will release if you drive off. I prefer to engage and disengage before taking off. Also, are you setting the brake after spirited driving? Best to let the brakes cool down before clamping the brake. I use ours all the time as I find when you release the brake pedal after going into park with no PB, there is a brief moment of a back and forth rocking motion followed by click that I don't like. I've seen it on numerous units as well as a Z06 I drove. Makes me feel better going to N, setting parking brake and then park with no movement of the car. Again, I wont do this after a hard run and braking session. I'm only at 1400 miles and so far I haven't heard anything unusual from the constant use of the PB. Could be brake dust settling under the pad and moisture basically rusting under it. When you take off its scrubbing it off.

I never use the EPB when parked in my garage. I use wheel stops, roll up over the stops, put it in N, let the car settle into place, then put it into P and turn the engine off.
So my car sits most of the time without using the EPB. Around town, I use the EPB 100% of the time when parking somewhere, and always release it before putting the vehicle into D with my foot on the brake. I don't think my parking pawls ever get touched.

I never use the parking brake unless I'm on a steep incline and then I set it before taking my foot off the brake and release it while my foot is on the brake.

Same. And in NE SC we're flat as a pancake so never parked on any incline!
