Default Museum Delivery Experience

Our delivery date was set for December 8th at 7:45am. We made the trip down from NW Indiana on December 7th and arrived at the museum around 2:00pm. Upon entering the museum you are greeted with Corvette Boulevard and 8 beautiful Corvettes just waiting for their owners. I immediately saw my car and walked up to the sign next to it which had our names and Raffle Winners - 2023 Arctic White Corvette Coupe. It really did happen!!! A staff member then proceeded to get our VIP credentials so we would have them for the next morning. We walked around a bit, checked out the store, and then headed across the street to the Hotel Sync. We then went into Bowling Green, had a nice dinner at 440 Main, and then visited some Bernese Mountain Dog friends about a half hour away.

The next morning we arrived at the museum around 7:40am and was greeted and assigned our tour guide, Lillian. She was a pleasure to spend the morning with. Shortly after we arrived we had to take care of some paperwork with Chuck. Chuck works for Campbell Chevrolet and they handle the ordering of raffle win cars for the Museum. I also had to square up with him for my added extras of the Scrape Armor radiator screens, edge red engine cover, car cover, and Jake frunk and trunk mats. They were all installed by the museum along with the ACS Z06 carbon flash rockers I ordered ahead of time and had shipped to the museum.

We then proceeded to have our overview of the car. Lillian went through the all aspects of the car. Front to back, inside and out. Once we felt comfortable and had no other questions, regarding the car, we made the smile inducing drive down the boulevard. We then proceeded down the hallway and outside to the wall mural and front of the museum to snap some pictures. The car remained outside, near the entrance, under the awning until it would be picked up to be transported back to our home. If anyone is looking for a single man transport company, Shane recommended me Roscoe Specialized Hauling. Russell Hedger (502-432-8560) is the one man team and he did a phenomenal job. He handles a 1,000 mile radius out of Louisville. The staff at the museum couldn't say enough good thing about him. He picked up the car at 1pm and returned to his home in Louisville, to deliver it the next day.

After the delivery, we spent the rest of our time touring the museum, shopping in the store, and having lunch at the Stingray Grill. We then headed back home early afternoon so we could pick up our kids, Sully the Golden Retriever and Astraea the Bernese Mountain Dog. Side note: I-65 after Indy, in the dark, sucks!!!

Friday morning came and Russell arrived right when he said he would, 9:30 am. It was pouring rain so he unloaded it and drove it right into the garage where it will stay with the hopes of some nice days ahead.

The museum delivery was truly a great experience and I would recommend it highly to anyone considering it. The staff are so friendly and treat you like royalty. What a great couple of days!!! If anyone has any questions, I will be glad to answer them.

Congrats! Very nice ride and I wholeheartedly agree that everyone considering a C8 purchase should opt for Museum delivery. It’s something a Corvette enthusiast should experience at least once. I’m glad my wife and I did it!

Beautiful C8 and Congrats on the GREAT experience.
I will most likely do museum delivery for my Z06 since it may be my last new Corvette. Posts like yours makes my decision easier.

Too bad you didn't/couldn't drive it home. A new Corvette makes for a great road trip. We've done NCM Delivery twice. Our first one was the day after the sinkhole (Feb 2014) and we drove the entire length of the Natchez Trace Parkway (Nashville to Natchez) and then continued on state/US highways to our home in the DFW area. Never was on an Interstate. With our Sept 2020 C8 delivery, we headed first to Bardstown to visit some craft Bourbon distilleries and then started the trip home. This time we took various scenic byways. We did the Ozark National Riverways Scenic Drive, the Boston Mountains Scenic Drive, the Northwestern Arkansas Scenic Byway, and the Talimena Scenic Drive in both Arkansas and Oklahoma. All of these were nice drives as were all the state and U.S. highways we travelled between the scenic routes. Again, we were never on an Interstate. One very interesting stretch is AR 123 (nicknamed the Tail of the Dragon – yes, there is another Tail of the Dragon). Total of 54 miles, but 19 of those are the most challenging. It weaves through heavily forested mountainous terrain with beautiful vistas with sweepers, switchbacks, and hairpins arriving in rapid succession. Unlike the more famous Tail of the Dragon, AR 123 is lightly travelled. It took us a total of 4 days to get home.

My wife and I drove our car home after delivery and I’m glad we did. I’m only 900 miles away from Bowling Green from my home in Maryland and it was a nice way to break-in the car after delivery.
