Default Plant tours

I am planning on going to Bowling Green for a plant tour March 1. The museum site is confusing as it states you can only do the combo pack. museum / plant tours. I am a member and do not want a museum tour. Then it states assembly of the C8 might not be running?

It states:

Tour scheduling will take place at the time of purchase. At this time, tours can only be booked through the end of March 2023. Members can schedule and purchase plant tours by logging into their Member’s Only Portal.

Current Blackout dates are 12/5 – 12/9, 12/26 – 1/2.

The National Corvette Museum will be conducting Plant Tours on January 16th; however, assembly operations will not be running. The Tour will remain informative, and you will see all stages of production.

Individuals must be ages 13 and up to participate in a plant tour. No bags, cameras, or open-toe shoes are permitted inside the building.

Occasionally, due to circumstances outside of the National Corvette Museum’s control, the plant may not be in normal production during part (or all) of your visit. Your scheduled tour will continue with your guide, sharing the full assembly process. Refunds and discount do not apply.
They're saying that the plant could possibly not be building cars during your tour. The most common reason would be an unplanned shutdown due to parts shortages. January 16th is a factory Holiday. Only combination Plant/Museum Tickets are available for purchase - simply don't tour the Museum if you don't want to.

Yeah, you may have to pay for both tours, but just skip the one you don't want to go to as Zymurgy says. Hope you have a good time with the plant tour - should be very informative.

I recall reading that if you are a member you get a credit off the 50 dollars tour fee. Believe it is 15 dollars off. Call before you book and they can confirm and tell how to get discount. The tour is so worth it!

This is what we said to them :We plan on going on a plant tour March 1 if available. Can you do only the plant tour as I am a member and have done the museum many times. Pam Pillow quoted me :No they only sell combo tickets, I am sorry.

She did not comment on a discount to NCM members

Just booked our plant tour March 1 for my wife & I and under promo code we put in pour NCM # and instead of $ 100.00 it came up as $ 70.00 The last time we toured was about 5 yrs. ago and at that time you could do the VIP tour for $ 50.00 it gave you a extra hour of touring and you get to see more than the usual tour. That doesn't seem to be available this time. We have been doing the plant tours almost every other year since the plant opened At the beginning you could go right into the spray booth area.

We just toured the plan in Nov this year. One of the stops was right next to the "paint booth". It did not look like there was any way to get close other than going inside the clear surround. The entire process was automated. No humans inside the clear surround. Robotic paint arms whizzed all around. Unpainted panels came in, painted panels out. The color could change instantly - and our guide made of point of that feature - apparently that was not always the case. So, as set of red panels was followed immediately with a set of blue panels. Never a drop of left over color from the previous set - the guide said.
