Has anyone installed a dash cam to record an unfortunate incident? About six months ago I got a Miofive that records in 4K with 64GB and records in one minute segments which can be saved in the event of an accident.
Looking to get a dash cam for my DD - so will be checking in with this thread to see what others have done.
I would highly recommend Blackvue or Thinkware. I ran a Blackvue DR-500 for 10 years on my BRZ. I recently replaced it with a DR-750X. Have a Viofo A129 Pro in my wife's Outback. It's OK for one of the cheaper units, but it has a tendency to overheat in the summer and restart/beep. Never had a problem with the Blackvue units and Thinkware would be my second option as they get very high marks for their units.
Resurrecting this thread to confirm a couple assumptions about the PDR as a dash cam:
1) by setting it up to continuously record, it appears to me to function just like a forward facing dash cam, with perhaps a narrower field of view. Is that right?
2) are there any alternative angles whatsoever, or do I only get the front facing camera?
3) is there any way to capture footage continuously from the Blindspot monitoring or back up cameras?
4) does anyone have any experience being rear-ended and using the PDR to help?

Thanks to all!
1) yes
2) only front facing camera
3) no
4) dunno but I would say it would help if you got pushed into the car in front of you.
