I have my 2022 C8 plugged into a tender in my garage. I double clicked the remote start to start the car and it started for about 10 seconds then shut off. Any idea why or is that normal?
Edit: just got an OnStar notification through email:
An issue with the emissions system in your 2022 Chevrolet Corvette has been detected. Please service your vehicle within 7 days.

I just sat in it with the battery tender unplugged and started it up and it stayed running but I have a check engine light.
If I call the dealer, will they be able to remotely read the code? It's probably only been two weeks since I have started the car, and it's been on the tender the entire time.

If you remote start your car, it should run longer than 10 seconds. It won't run forever though, and the owner manual cautions about having the vehicle sitting running at idle for too long with no motion.
If you open the TRUNK, it will shut off immediately. I can only guess this is to prevent people from getting injured by the running engine, but really the serpentine belt area is pretty hard to reach!
If you open the FRUNK it will keep running.
I usually remote start and let my car warm up at least past 120-130F oil temp before I drive off. Maybe not needed with a dry sump, but it's an old habit and I just prefer the engine to have had a chance to get lubricated from top to bottom before taking off and putting stress on it.
Starting a car with a tender attached is not likely to be ANY risk to the car. The tender should have current limiting built in and an inline fuse (10A probably) to limit the current going through the tender/charger. Keep in mind, you are talking about a battery that is producing ~730CCA!
10 amps (even if your tender could do that) is a tiny drop in the bucket.
Also to note, I have a Borla ATAK installed at the dealer and the car gave me 100 plus trouble free miles with it. Not sure if this is just coincidence or what.
Conditions in Which Remote Start Will Not Work The remote start will not operate if any of the following occur: . The ignition is in any mode other than off. . A remote key is in the vehicle. . The hatch/trunk is not closed. . The convertible top is not fully open or closed. . The tonneau cover is not closed. . The hazard warning flashers are on. . There is an emission control system malfunction. . The engine coolant temperature is too high. . The oil pressure is low. . The 30 minutes of engine run time have been used. . The vehicle is not in P (Park).
Push the blue OnStar button, they'll be able to tell you what the code is for. I'm guessing it's your exhaust valves needing a relearn procedure since you just had the exhaust installed.

They did the relearn when it was installed. It worked fine for the 100 or so miles that I drove it before putting it away for the winter.

I'm surprised it started with a check engine light. My experience has been GM vehicles will NOT START with a CHECK ENGINE light. I've seen this many times. The car will have stored the code.

Remote start/run on my C8 automatically shuts itself off around the 15-minute mark. Yet to put a timer to it, but if I did...probably 15 minutes.
I unplug my trickle charger from the wall outlet when I do run it, just to be on the safe side. Glad to learn it may not be an issue after all, yet easy to unplug and plug back in when done.
