My lucky day! GM sent me back $2900!
I originally ordered a 22 HTC in September 2021. I finally got my car in October 2022 - a 2023 Model.
Said that I was price protected.
Unexpected and appreciated.
The 5K additional mark up was also removed when I picked up the car in October. First time in who knows how long that I seemed to catch a break.

How did you get the rebate? Did the dealers do this for you guys or did GM? Did you have to fill anything out? I've been on a list since 12/21 and my car will be delivered in the next week or so. I would like to get a rebate also since it went up $3500 since my deposit.

akdredger and BlueAc, could you please elaborate on which dealers you used and what you did to get the refund? Did you know you price protected before you received the refund? I am just curious to know if everyone is entitled to this who placed early deposits, or if the dealer has to initiate it. I know McMaulkin advertised that they price protected their customers, but mine never mentioned it. So my question is, if everyone is price protected by GM from their initial deposit, and not told about it from the dealer, does the dealer then keep that refund and not tell the customer?

The dealer removed the 5k markup on the day my car arrived, the salesman said dealership decided not to charge the markup anymore.
Just lucky I guess. 2 more nights in Vegas, my luck hasn't continued here.

That is a good deal. I paid deposit in October of 2021. My car went to 3000 last week. When I asked my sales guy about price protection, he said the price shown on the configurator today is protected NOW that the order is in the Chevrolet production schedule.
Price at deposit is not protected, price at order acceptance is protected. Not what I wanted to hear, but that is what I expected.
