Did a search, no dice. This is super weird but does anyone know what brand of windshield wiper fluid GM puts in the C8? It leaves less "spots" on the car than any fluid I've ever used in any of my cars, and the weird part: my wife likes how it smells!
Any help is appreciated. The dealership service dept does NOT use the same kind as Bowling Green.
Whatever you use, get some 20/10 and add some of it to your reservoir. I've never seen anything else that will cut road film. ..
I picked up a gallon of 20/10-880 a few years ago. Every time I add wiper fluid, I also add 1 tsp of this stuff. Since there's enough in the bottle to make a 55 gallon drum, I'll never be able to use up what I have. .... But try their regular product first to see if you like it..
Call up your local Chevy dealer and ask if they just do wiper fluid refills for free. My local does and it's optikleen, what the C8 comes with from the factory.

How does the above and "optikleen" work on the "ends" where the wiper stops and reverses direction (driver's side next to "A" post and middle of windshield, driver's side)? That's where the buildup of "residual crud" seems to live. And it's a bear to get off the windshield. Am not doubting the two products above; just asking the question.
I've even used cooktop ceramic cleaner or toothpaste to get that stuff off. Both actually work but must be thoroughly rinsed off carefully before the wipers are turned on.

Not sure what you're asking..... but 20/10 cuts road film. ... A great deal of the spray that gets on the windscreen is what's thrown off the tires of cars in front of you. .. All the oil and crud on the road that comes loose when it gets wet... THAT is what 20/10 cuts. .. I used to keep a bottle in the door to reach out and just squirt instead of filling the reservoir.
Not sure about what happens at the ends of the wiper swing that you're inquiring about.
Yeah we have a lot of bugs so even without rain I use the wipers to clear the windshield sometimes while cruising. Even as a weekend only car she sees 500 miles a month, gotta keep my visibility.
I bought a couple bottles of opticlean and it is not the same fluid the factory put in. It smells completely different. Like the post originator, the wife loves the smell. My wife wants it for her car as well. I am going to find what it is... Even if I have to buy 5 bottles. 😉
My C8 is not an every day driver, so I just clean the windshield after I pull it back into the garage so no washer cleaner 'blow around- spots' and it's always clean for my next driving adventure.
