This thread is quite helpful. I receive my car in a couple of weeks and I want to set it up so that the NPP exhaust is as quiet as possible when it starts up in the garage. I also want to have one mode for my wife - she will want the car as docile as possible. It sounds like I will set Touring Mode up with her in mind, then I will switch to Z Mode when I pull away from the house knowing that the car will revert to Touring Mode upon startup.

In many ways the setup options on the C7 were much more flexible than on the C8. The C8 is a better car all-around, but I'm not sure why GM thought they had to make the displays and modes LESS flexible than before.

There is that, yeah. I have mine arranged to use the track mode display in all of the drive modes. I prefer that because that allows the most info tiles to be displayed. And I still get speed, gear, and tach infor. Set up like that the HUD comes in in track mode too - but with a quick button push, I used the display with the gear, speed, and speed limit showing.
