So I turn 40 soon, called my Chevrolet dealer in Fort Payne to see about purchasing a 2023 1LT Corvette, basically got told that it would likely be 2024 or 2025 before I could get delivery of one.
obviously a 2023 model just simply isn’t going to happen, unless I want to spend 85 thousand for a “used” model (used as in bought new and put up for resale immediately).
Has anyone been able to procure a c8 for prices close to actual MSRP? Or should I just to what I got forever.
At the moment you either pay and have your car earlier than projected or you wait and get it at MSRP. I'm sure there are a few people who got their car in a smaller timeframe but I think the meta right now is waiting 9 months to a year and a half give or take for a C8 and even longer for a Z. So their prediction of 2024 sounds about right for MSRP. I had to pay over MSRP for my 23 but I'm glad I did because waiting 3 months vs waiting years sounded alot better (just whatever you feel like doing).
I got on a waiting list last July and it was 5K over MSRP.for a nicely equipped Arctic White LT2 Z-51.
The months are passing by and I was told Mine "will be a 2023" and to expect "Late Summer" delivery.
For a new factory ordered car, many buyers are waiting 12 to 18 months.
You can find them, they are out there.
I see posts on here practically everyday where people are claiming you can get C8s all over at MSRP. Maybe one of them will post up an actual bonafide lead. I doubt it though.
One friend ordered thru MacMulkin and got his car within 7 months. ( MSRP )
Another ordered thru Paul Masse, RI, and got his within 6 months. ( MSRP - $500, $2500 deposit )
I am ordering a 2024 and was told I will probably be receiving by October. ( MSRP - $500, $2500 deposit )
Paul Masse Chevrolet, East Providence RI was 35th largest dealership, over 100 Corvette allocations per year.
There are now many dealerships that have many allocations. Find the bigger ones. Ciocca/NJ and MacMulkin/NH sell over 1000 per year. So being 600th on the list goes pretty quickly.
Don't pay MSRP for a used car. Don't pay over MSRP unless you have extra money. The people that pay over will lose the most in the future.

Ordered mine on January 20, 2023. The car is scheduled to be built on February 27 according to the GM email to the dealership. It is a 3LT Z-51 coupe, with mag ride. Maybe I just hit a great seam in production and availability.
I wouldn't have expectations of getting a C8 at MSRP within 6 months. With the ERAY debut, GM will be reducing their stingray allocation to a lower percentage to account for more ERAY and Z06 demand.
I put my deposit at Ciocca Atlantic City April 2022, and the expectation from my sales manager will be targeted for delivery around May-June time.
Expect a wait time of 12-15 months of waiting for MSRP pricing and that's not counting if there are any shortages of parts.
Dont give in and pay extra, it's only enabling the greedy sellers to continue raising prices. Go to MM or Ciocca and put your deposit down.

I spoke with MM last week and was told the wait is 3 to 6 months for a allocation to place a new build order. I believe everyone who really wanted a C8 has one or will shortly. I think high interest rates will push some buyers out of the market because of the additional cost. Im guessing by end of July or august dealers will start to have stock on hand. By fall maybe even below MSRP on stingrays.
Eray pricing and Z06 are way above the range of what the average Corvette buyer price point is. The current C8 resale market is like nothing we have seen before or lasted this long.

It will take some research by calling a number of dealers, both local and distance, but there have been reports of members finding available new C8s at MSRP on a dealer's lot. You might also check with dealers like MacMulkin, Criswell and Ciocca and see what kind of wait period is involved.

We are into the 4th model year for the C8, gone are the days where you have to wait for 18 months - 2 years, if your dealer is telling you that you are looking at a 2025, find another dealer. The Bowling Green production for 2023 will be the largest so far
I am at 15 months of waiting at MSRP at a higher volume dealer here in Houston. I expect 18 months total. Waits are falling and I think a 9 to 12 month wait at MSRP is a reasonable expectation, given that the Z-06 and E-Ray will crowd out some ~20% of Stingray production by later this year.
Your dealer most likely doesn't get than many allocations which is why the wait is so long with them. Call MacMulkin, give them a refundable deposit and get on their waiting list. They sell at MSRP and not a penny more. No extra fees, just great service. They are the number one volume Corvette dealer in the US. You'll have a car in less than a year, more likely 7-8 months if not less. You can then have the car courtesy delivered to your area.

Called Shane at Macmulkin last week , told me 5-8 months to order. Had a courtesy delivery to McClarty in Huntsville for my 2022 C8 in January 2022 ( have a son in Florence ). MM #1 dealer IMHO. Have been repeat customer .

Pretty much what I did. Found a small dealer with an open allocation at MSRP. Called on 1/20. Ordered was entered in GM's system as we spoke. Gave a deposit and the car has a TPW of 3/13. In fact, it was the first museum delivery he was involved with. Sometimes you just get lucky. I told my wife the stars had aligned. I certainly feel the pain of the ones on the lists. Waiting is hard!
