Has one ordered their car and didn’t receive what was originally ordered? A friend of mine ordered a white c8 and came in black, dealer confirmed he ordered white.

This happens when the dealer doesn't provide the "GM Workbench" order confirmation immediately upon entering the order in GM's ordering system. Somebody screwed up and it's usually the person at the dealership who isn't double checking the order and then they don't provide the GM Workbench PDF to the customer to double check. Rarely, the factory has a mishap, but that has happened as well.
It is my recommendation that as the buyer, you request this from your sales consultant. Any competent dealership should have no issue emailing the GM Workbench order page immediately upon order entry.

I wanted black, my wife wanted white… we ordered white… I’d be ok if I got anything but caffeine metallic. Our car has been in at a best western in Kentucky for 24 hrs.

After waiting so long, yeah, I would be really upset if the car came in in the wrong color. Not much choice but to either accept the car (hopefully with a large discount) or wait for another allocation and then a new build..
Yes somebody in our club ordered one. The car came in and the interior was the wrong color. The club member was livid and all he will tell us is that he got a good discount but he is still upset every time he drives the car and he has repeated that story over and over. Talk about bad publicity. He should not have accepted the C8 and made the salesman reorder it. The same salesman ordered a car for another member and when they went to the museum for a museum delivery the car was the completely wrong color. Those screw ups have cost that dealership at least four C8 sales after that as nobody will buy from him going forward. He can’t understand why everyone is going to other dealers in the area. It’s not rocket science.

This is what happened with my C8 too... stopped at that exact hotel about 180 miles from BGA on a Saturday. I checked on Sunday morning, and it hadn't moved yet, but by 8:49am on Monday, the car carrier was at the MD/PA border (headed to NH). Your car is on the way!
On our previous 2017 Grand Sport, the car was correctly ordered including the Carbon Flash Hash Stripes on the fenders....... car came in with similar hash marks, like dark charcoal, but they weren't Carbon Flash as ordered. The dealer and I both had copies of the WorkBench order which was correct. GM insisted on photos from the dealer, etc, etc and then sent the dealer another set of hash marks for them to install under warranty. All fixed....
I dodged a bullet when I ordered my '22 Z51 HTC. I built the car on the Chevy site with trident-spoke Spectra Gray wheels and saved my selections. The next day I sent that build to MacMulkin. Later that night I pulled up the saved build to show my son and he noticed that it had saved Sterling Silver tridents instead. We edited the build back to Spectra Gray and saved it. The next morning I checked and it had been changed again to Sterling Silver. There was some sort of glitch on Chevy's site. I notified Shane at MacMulkin and he changed the order to the desired Spectra Gray wheels. Had my son not noticed the error I would have been in for a rude awakening when picking up the car.
I wanted a black C8 and my wife wanted Rapid blue. My C8 came in black even though I told my wife I ordered Rapid Blue. I had no choice but to keep it.
I don’t know how these orders get screwed up like that but sometimes you just have to accept the cards you’re dealt.

Hah, you are playing with fire!
This reminds me of the time my wife wanted some jewelry from Swarovski for Valentine's day, but somehow carbon fiber mods showed up. I have no idea how that happened

That sounds like an unfortunate situation. Crazy how that happened.
Both MacMulkin and Criswell send you the GM Workbench order for your verification that it's correct just prior to submitting it, so if there's an error it's obvious who made it.
Seems to me that any competent dealer would do this just to be 100% sure they and purchaser are on the same page as to what's being ordered.
