Default Trunk sensor malfunction

Hi all. My trunk sensor says the trunk is open but it is not. No idea how to reset it or why it would say it is open. 3 days in a row. I thought it would fix itself but hasn’t. This is a relatively new car. Under 700 miles so far. C8 stingray 1LT. Any advice is appreciated.

Obviously take it to the dealer. It's a warranty item.

Ignore above post till you CAN’T. I’ve seen posts about this here before. Hopefully someone with the knowledge will give some HELPFUL advice. I get not wanting to go to dealer & they may be far away & always inconvenient. Good luck 👍

That advice IS somewhat helpful. If the trunk sensor shows open, any attempts to reset will fail since you will repeatedly get the open indication.
If it suddenly sensed closed again, it would reset itself. I would locate the sensor, make sure nothing is blocking it , check the connections and/or reseat them, and if nothing is found take it to the dealer.

Do a search using the term “trunk sensor.” Here is just one thread that talks about the trunk not showing as closed:

If all else fails, take it to the dealer as a warranty item.

Control alt delete is my standard fix for anything computer related. It works 99% of the time. I hope it works for you. I've had to disconnect the battery on my 2022 Ford Edge twice to reset the computer for logging on to my phone. At some point I'm going to have the dealer try to diagnose why it keeps failing which is why I recommend taking your car to the dealer.
