Tracking Your C8
Few questions:
- Who does your track prep and what does it cost?
- What do you do about insurance? I checked with my carrier and they said any HPDE or racing is excluded. Do you just risk it? Do you buy single day coverage? I saw a quote of over $1000 for TWO DAYS and I pay $100/month for total coverage for the year!
- Our local Speedway does street drags (https://streetdragslax.com/). Anyone venture out and do something similiar? Advice/cautions/avoid all together?
I'm going to Ron Fellows this August and have done performance driving through Xtreme Xperience so I feel very cnofident in my driving capabilities already. Excited to really have fun with this car while also planning to drive daily. I'm at 1243 miles so I'll be past the 1500 by end of March I would expect unless with get a 3rd or 4th winter here in Wisconsin.

Add 2 quarts to the transmission, if your handy do it yourself using the tilt method I did 30 minutes. Buy the fluid through Summit its a almost half price.
Have the dealer change out your break fluid- I bought 2 quarts of Castrol SRF and the dealer did the change out for $119
Also have the dealer do a half track alignment (split the difference between stock and track) if your only gonna track it a couple times a year.
Make sure you have the brake ducts on the car except the lower half on the rears, screw them on at the track.
Haggerty quote for 1 day track coverage at Daytona for track night in America $458 for 10% deductible of claimed value
Go have fun
