Over the years, I had Clearplex installed on 4 cars, including the C8. I’m a believer, obviously. The newest film has minimal distortion. Is important to properly maintain the film.
Cost for my C8 was 600. Already protected two serious rock hits.
^ I heard once you hit the wipers, it scratches the film. Had this been your experience?
I wax the film, so rain beads more on windshield. i also make sure wiper blades are clean. Yes, may get some streaks after rain, but found they buff out.
I never used in winter - with salt, snow and gunk spraying on windshield.
Works great if you do not use your wipers too often, if you do you're replacing it yearly, there are other manufacturers and like the car wrap film it keeps getting better and lasting longer
I've never heard of this product & if the wipers could scratch it, I am not interested....just my opinion
I live in Alaska where the roads are nearly covered in dirt all winter. The installer has it on his daily driver, said it has been installed on his car for 3 years and is still clear. I am going to his shop today, he came to my house because I can't drive my C8 due to snow/ice, so I can look at his windshield. I am having him do work here.
I wish I would have known about this stuff before my motorhome took a rock in the windshield. Nearly every car up here gets windshield damaged, so thought I'd look into it.
Plus, you 3LT guys, supposedly this is UV protection, maybe saves your dash?
A corvette daily driver in Alaska eh? Now that's something you don't hear about everyday. How can he drive his C8 but you can't? I'm looking forward to you reporting back on the condition of his film (hopefully he didn't change it yesterday lol).
The 3LT dash delamination issue is not a UV thing and can possibly occur regardless of heat / sunlight exposure.
I had Dynoflex done by a reputable installer. If your car is outside all day, like mine is, you'll be lucky if it lasts 6 months. The sun destroys them.

Sorry for the confusion, his daily driver is a truck. Looked good to me today.

Wipers can scratch and etch the glass too if they have grit.
I have used both of these products on our cars for several years and very happy with how they perform. One could argue if a windshield is less than the film, why not just get a new glass when needed. I buy into that, but have found the protection is worth it just for not having the glass get pitted as much over time, let alone not having to replace it everytime a rock hits. (Don't want to jinx it, but I have yet to have a rock break the glass since using these).
BTW, I do not yet have an opinion which brand is better, they seem to work just about equal so far. One more comment, like PPF, good installer is super important.
