Default question about engine compartment

I found a formed piece of what looks like rubber, it seems to set on the block and and comes up about 3 inches below the throttle body, It runs side to side. lt"s black and looks like some sort of packaging. Does anyone know what this is and should I remove it. Have about 1200 miles on the car and just noticed it. 2023 C8, yes, I need a new picture !!!!!

Need to see a photo. I wouldn't remove it without being sure what it's for or if it's needed.

First 2 photos are from Passenger side, second 2 are from Driver side. What is this and should I remove it. Looks and feels like a piece of rubber but don't know what it would be fore.

That's the valley cover sound pad. It's suppose to be there, don't remove it. It's there to quiet things and insulate the intake mainfold from radiated heat from the valley cover. Check out Lingenfelters PTR manifold instructions and one can see the full piece in "Step 20".

In the upper right corner, click the drop down with your username. Click use control panel. Click edit avatar. Change to whatever picture you want from a saved picture or take one. Hope this helps!

If you are referring to your avatar, you just need to change it in your user CP.
