Battery Maintainer Cable Routing
I believe some of you guys are nuts. A TOWEL UNDER THE CORD! Don't forget if you have the cord running under the first "notch" of the hood the CAR CANNOT BE MOVED until the hood is closed. Perhaps you won't run off with it still attached.

Well, I do it because I park under a 4 post lift and it's difficult to lift the hood partially and hold it there, to prevent the hood from hitting the lift above while trying to plug into the under hood receptacle.
The power / light will shut down automatically after 15 minutes. No need to close the frunk at all as it has no bearing on powering off the light.

One reason is I had a perfectly good tender I used for my C6. Why would I purchase a new one, so I could have a nifty cross flag logo on it? Not worth the hundred dollars.
Here's a great idea. A battery tender magnetic quick connect/disconnect. With this mounted up in the front in the grill work, you just get in the car, backup and go. As the car backs up, the battery tender connection disconnects. When you return home, you do have to go to the front bend down and stick the magnetic attracted plug back on. https://www.rpidesigns.com/shop/item...harger-hookup/. Click on the zoom icon for a close look at the magnetic quick disconnect/connect plug.
Looks like you may have to drill two small holes in some out ot way place up in the front grill work. Then run two (1?) wire to the battery. You should be able to hide this battery wire out of the way, so looking in the frunk you won't be able to see it.

I just plug mine in and close the frunk lid. I don't engage the latch at all. I do use a micro fiber towel to lay the cord on and let the maintainer lay of the floor. I've never had a dead battery from any "updates" and have been going on year 3 with absolutely no issues. There is no need to close the frunk at all or snap it closed to the first click. I dont worry about "rodents" at all as I keep my garage spotless and the doors closed when not getting a car out.
By the way, my super nifty cross flag logo tender came with my C7, I didn't pay $100 for it.

I just use the towel to protect my beautiful paint. Takes me a minute to add such a simple protection. I have zero concerns about driving off....
Option: Using your fingers simply click the frunk latch to the closed position. This will turn off the frunk light and allow the frunk to remain open without running the light When you are finished charging, click the light button. This puts the light back to the on position and when you close the frunk the light goes off.

Many of the posts assume that the car is parked where it is suitable to leave the frunk unlatched. For someone who parks their car outside, in the elements, it's necessary to find a way to route the cord in such a manner as to allow it to be CLOSED. ..
