Specifically curious about the z51 performance, but non-z counts too. I see A LOT of chatter between groups on facebook and some other sub-forums (both here and elsewhere)
Motor Trend seems to provide otherworldly performance numbers versus what people have posted. These cars sort of take the stick-skill out of the equation with the launch set up and modes. Love to know what everyone else is getting. My dragy comes in tomorrow, looking forward to playing around on some flat roads soon.
My best dragy has been a 3.19 with rollout factored in.
.I compared it to my pdr and the pdr is off by 0.1-0.2, but the pdr doesn't care if u r driving downhill, hence the great pdr times u see.
Also, my runs are on unprepped streets with a lot of fuel in the tank and normal tire pressures, i want to know how my car runs on a daily basis with no prepping.
I did the same with my Porsche and that consistently runs repeated 2.6 0-60s in any conditions. My c8 is consistently in the upper 3.2-3.3 range. It did 3.19 once. It suffers from wheelspin.
My best C8 60' is a 1.87, most are in the 1.9s.
My Porsche consistently 60' times in the 1.6s.
AWD is such a great advantage on the street.
Results from 1/2 mile race yesterday...
7 passes....best,,,top speed 142,
ranged from 138-142mph ....
very cold conditions ...low-mid 40's, traction control working overtime,...every run, tires were "cold",,, best 0-60 was 4.2
...maybe ...could have run a few more mph if launch was better?
There was a release stating that a 2023 Z06 was going to be at this event, I didn't see it but, there is a listing
in the results of a 2023 Corvette @ 154mph....
....I assume.....
Tire pressures are 28-30 cold. by the times of the runs around 32.
Wheelspin is a problem, my best 60' is a 1.87, most others are low-mid 1.9s.
I also included some runs with my Porsche numbers, tire pressures on the latest runs were at 39/41lbs, much higher than the recommended cold pressures of 31/33, but real world results on a hot day, tire pressures were set for 30 degree temps. Still cut a 1.64 60' time.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
That said the rwd mid engine and rear engine cars are still pretty darn good at putting the power down and there is something more playful about them then immensely capable all wheel drive versions that are a bit heavier and just so capable that they can be a bit boring.
I've had around a dozen Audis in the 450 to 550 horsepower range and a simple 35k dollar Audi S4 with 3 Grand and mods would have no issue at all putting down 2.8 second 0 to 60 times on all season tires or in damp weather or in hot weather or in cold weather it made no difference whatsoever. They're immensely capable but in my opinion not as fun to drive.
I like both. I like immensely capable cars that can feel a little bit safe and boring and I like fun playful cars like my Alfa that can make you work a little harder.
Variety is the spice of life.
