My bodyman warned me years ago to never use a bra. He has fixed a lot of cars using them. I used one once on my C3 and it rubbed some paint thin, and yes it fit proper and tight.
These are not the "bras" they used in the old days.
I have a Novistretch bra. I put it on when I know I’m going to drive at highway speeds for more than 5 minutes. Had it on for the drive from Florida back to Ohio in the spring of 2021. Not a single rock chip on the front of the car. Got a few bug splatters on the hood above the bra, but that was it. It’s a cheap solution to protect the front of your Corvette when the chances are elevated for rock and bug damage.
Drove back 2900 miles from the museum with the Novistretch on the front. We drove through several rain storms, snow, wind, and tumbleweed. The bra took some hits and has one hole in it now, but the bumper was fully protected.

Ok....mine was a Novistretch not "years ago". Go for it...good luck. As the car flexes as all do, the bra will rub. Even soft cloth will act as sandpaper over time.

NoviStretch is better than traditional bras.
Guaranteed NOT to hurt your paint or finish.
I've used them for years on all my Camaro's and my C7 without any problems.
I've got one ready for my C8 when it finally gets here.
My advice... get one and use it.
If your state requires a front plate, do what I did for my C7 and what I plan on doing for my C8...
Not meant to suggest in favor or against the Novistretch bra, but it covers up to the joint between the frunk lid and front bumper. On the 500 mile trip on the way home from the NCM delivery in January, got a 1.5" long chip in the paint just above the bra on the frunk hood. Touched up pretty well with the Carbon Flash Black touch up pen. Point of the post, is you can still get rock chips with the bra (maybe it prevented some damage at the bra location)

Again - I drove across country 2900 miles with it and not a single issue. I'm not suggesting that it's impossible for it to do what you're describing, just seems unlikely. Everyone will have their own personal opinion and can make their own choice on what to use or not use. If you don't like it, I'm 100% ok with that as well, lol

Had a GM bra on my C6 which was leather. Used it only on long trips. Later got a Novistretch Bra for my C7 for 7 years also for long trips and now I have one for my C8. They're better that the old leather ones in that they're more like a sock and you can wash them out by hand in a sink. Stops bugs and all sorts of stuff, but it won't stop a larger rock or road debris. I found them to be a good product. Just my experince. My C5 with a GM bra. My C7 with a Novistretch Bra. My C7 with a Novistretch bra My C8 with a Novistretch bra
I have full frontal ppf on mine and only used the Novistretch bra on the one long trip I did with it when driving from SoCal to the Ron Fellows school. No issues with it and I liked the extra protection on that long trip. If I do any other long trips, I will use it also. For normal driving on the freeway, I let the ppf take care of things.

I ran the GM bra on my C5s for many years and never had a problem with damage to the paint. They key may have been I made sure the area under the bra was kept clean - wiped it down each time I cleaned the car even if it was just using detail spray and a microfiber towel.
I ran the Novistretch bra for a while on my C7 and yes, it dd help keep the front of the car clean and offered some protection, but please note that a larger rock can put a hole in the fabric as well as chip the paint.
I used one on my former C6 and have one on the C7 and 8. I know it won't protect against anything more than minor rock chips, but for me it's the ability to greatly reduce the amount of bugs/debris that can get into the front end. I hate cleaning bug guts.
I do plan on getting PPF for the car this spring but I'll still use the Novistretch.
