I don’t have the front lift and periodically my front end may touch the pavement. Who makes the strongest and most sturdy 5vm style splitter? Thanks in advance.

 

Actually, you don't want the "strongest and most sturdy 5vm style splitter". What you want is the CHEAPEST 5vm style splitter you can buy that still looks halfway decent. That way, when you bottom out badly enough (and you will), you can replace your current cheap splitter with another cheap splitter. To that end, eBay has an assortment of 5VM style splitters ranging from $129.00 and up. BTW, 99% Of the population cannot tell if the splitter on your car cost $1,000.00 or $100,00. This is what I do, and splitters at this price point enable me to always keep a spare in the garage for an immediate swap...The splitter shown below cost me $159.00 on eBay...

Yep I agree! Even more, the low-cost splitters are made from ABS. it's far more durable than carbon fiber or fiberglass.

Wondered when I had to replace the carbon fiber winglets on my 2017 Grand Sport Stage 2 Aero Option that cost ~$4000. It was far cheaper to buy ABS Stage 3 Winglets than replace the small OEM CF Stage 2 Winglets. Investigated and found ABS is used for many auto and even airplane parts. It is what Lego blocks are made from as it's very rugged. It takes paint better than fiberglass and CF! So bought those from eBay for ~$150. They came painted carbon flash. It matched my carbon flash painted OEM splitter.

My E-RAY PLAN
I have a Lift on my C8 and aftermarket 5VM from C7 Carbon. Use the Lift all the time BUT dinged the winglet as I did with my 2017 Grand Sport. Not hard when parked close to an island in a mall with cocreate sides!

I only paid ~$1400 for my Lift in 2020 it's now close to $2400. Doesn't help the edges hitting a concrete side curb! Turns out the E-Ray ground effects does not include any changes to the side skirts. Still only go back 2/3 as can be seen in the C8 Z06. That would be my only reason to buy to stop rocks hitting the rockers. So the Ground Effects may be ~$2000 for a CF Splitter. Need lift if you get a CF splitter or C7 Carbon fiberglass!

So rather then spend ~$4500 for Lift and CF Splitter will just get a quality ABS splitter painted carbon flash. Typically, to keep mold costs down they come in 2 or 3 pieces. That also reduces shipping costs. The standard C8 Z51 flexible splitter is 3 pieces and no issue. So will see what is available when I finally get my E-Ray!


Bought inexpensive ABS panted carbon flash Stage 3 Winglets for my Stage 2 Aero Option 2017 Grand Sport carbon fiber splitter.


Had scrapped my small Stage 2 Aero Winglet when pulling out of a parking place in a mall next to an Island. Did the same with my C8 C7 Carbon Fiberglass 5VM Splitter. Lift on C8 was no help in that case. Replacement OEM Winglets that were CF painted carbon flash cost ~3 times the stage 3 in ABS. OEM CF painted Carbon Flash Stage 3 Winglets cost ~5 times the inexpensive ABS painted carbon flash from eBay!
