My frunk closes real hard often takes 2 tries to get it closed anyone have the dealer adjust the mechanism or do it themself ? Would love to retrofit the 24 C8 self closing frunk but imagine it would be pricy.
I'm concerned that the '24 parts will mechanically retrofit easily, but that either harness or scan code issues will effectively block retrofit.
1 - Have they been installing a harness to the location for years, awaiting the announcement of the feature? Likely not.
2 - Will one of the control modules need to be told "You have a soft close frunk now"? Likely, and will likely require a GM scan tool with account I imagine?

YIKES ! Before you go adjusting anything, I thought the same thing !! Frunk was terribly hard to shut. Was afraid I was going to break the hood !
TRY THIS !...
Lower the frunk softly and push down gently on the front until the you hear/feel the "1st CLICK", IMPORTANT: allow the frunk to rebound up slightly. Now, just push down ( don't have to slam !) until you hear/feel the 2nd click of the latch which secures the frunk !!!
Once I figured it out, I felt pretty dumb for trying to slam it ! It's really pretty easy !

YOU'RE WELCOME !
that is how I close mine. I believe is the written instruction in the owners manual.
I think this is a feature, not a bug. As others have said, it intentionally takes two motions (or one exaggeratedly slow one) to shut it most simply. Adjusting it won't accomplish anything unless we're misunderstanding your issue.

Try this. Softly bring the hood down until the first catch engages. Clench your hands as to make a fist. With both hands, bear down on the hood in the center using the flat part of your fingers above the knuckles. Lean forward bringing you weight forward to push down.
On my 2020 all I have to do is let the frunk lid rest on the latch (doesn't need to engage) and push it down in one motion to latch.
I saw either a FB C8 post or maybe someone here posted - a long while back - that there were issues with the frunk opening while the car was being driven. I think this "two click" method to close the frunk was started with the 2021 MY.
We have now progressed from the "flying roof club" to the "flying frunk club."
Here are the hood closing instructions from my 2020 manual but I checked the 2023 and they are the same. You can hear the 2 clicks when fully engaged but it is one motion:
The hood is not heavy enough to latch under its own weight. The hood will remain open until the striker is pushed into the latch. Ensure the hood is fully latched before taking the vehicle out of P (Park).
1. Before closing the hood, be
sure all filler caps are on
properly, and all tools are
removed.
2. Ensure that all cargo is placed
away from the emergency hood
release button.
3. Pull the hood down and set the
striker gently into the latch.
4. Firmly press down on the front
edge of the hood until the latch
clicks twice.
5. Check that the hood is flush to
the fascia to ensure the hood is
fully closed.
