Default Enjoy Cool Wives...

People will likely fall sharply on either side of this... and maybe the grass is always more green on the other side.

My wife. Hates Corvettes. She doesnt care that we own one, so it could definitely be worse.

Hates riding in it.
When riding in it, REALLY Hates acceleration.
Too Loud.
Too Uncomfortable.
H.A.T.E.S. the Top Down experience (fwiw she also hates driving in anything with the windows down, whether it's a Honda or a c8)
Cars are for transportation, blah blah blah

... now, I do enjoy that she wont ever drive it. But it really sucks having the c8 be off-limits for any kind of grand touring road trip fun. I see pics on the Facebook groups where lucky guys with car loving wives doing 1000 mile cross country trips, tail of the dragon, etc...

I bought the car to enjoy. I certainly do. It would be so much more fun with a wife that actually enjoys cars. My wife is more into art, Hates anything loud besides concerts.

so tthe car is more like my fortress of solitude as a result. Which is also fine... but I'd love to drive the c8 across the country. I have put 6k miles on my car since October 22'... still able to get it out a ton.

My wife enjoyed road trips in our Corvettes. We did 2 NCM deliveries with road trips home. We also did Route 66 in my C6.

Unfortunately, she lost her battle with cancer on March 16. I miss her so much. Our lives together were richly blessed. She was not only my wife of nearly 51 years (9 days short of 51), she was my best friend, my soul mate and my travel companion. We traveled extensively. We have been on all 7 continents and witnessed so many extraordinary sights - 3 weeks on photo safari in Kenya and Tanzania; the Galapagos Islands and Machu Picchu; Australia/New Zealand and Fiji; China, Hong Kong and Macau; Antarctica and Patagonia; Iceland; the Passion Play and Danube River cruise; a 20 day Alaska Expedition Cruise; Spain, Italy and France; not to mention visiting the Hawaiian Islands just about every year for the past 20 years. We also traveled the U.S. extensively, starting when our 2 boys were young.

We were also blessed with two fine boys that we're very proud of. They each married a wonderful woman and they are daughters to us (the daughters we never had). We are also blessed with a fantastic granddaughter who (at 15 years of age) still likes to travel with us (I'm taking her to Hawaii this summer).

Whether they love your Corvette or not, cherish the time you have with them.

Like yours, my wife is not a huge fan of Corvettes (or any car for that matter). She has never ridden in my C7 as it is difficult for her to get in/out of the car.

So very sorry for your loss. We also have two boys and have tried to travel as much as possible. Theyre still young and we hope to get as much as you have…really an inspiration!

My wife's dream car is and has always been a Corvette.
She approved this purchase...
She even smiled on a 100+ mile drive down the shore with the AWE Track Exhaust!
She likes my Porsche, but she loves the Vette.

When the C8 came out and they were doing the dealer tour cars my wife and I went to look at them. She said How much is the deposit? As she took out the debit card.
She was a rabid fan of my Viper.

I understand not being into the convertible experience or excessive acceleration though not riding it in at all is bizarre. Unless you are driving like a crazy person its just a car.

Pretty lucky in that, my wife's the opposite. She loves the C8 even more than my C7. Wasn't a huge fan of the Miata cause it was a bit small though still enjoyed it. Though my wife also smokes Cigar's and plays occasional golf rounds with me as well. Can't imagine going through life with a partner who doesn't enjoy the things you enjoy.

My wife doesn't care about the performance (her car is just transportation), but she finds the C8 VERY comfortable for travel. We've taken quite a few trips in it. I put it in Tour for the best ride and a quieter exhaust (do you have the factory exhaust, or aftermarket?), and she's fine. She'll even do top down on lower speed drives (not highways) once pollen season is over.

But she's not interested in driving it, and not that interested in just cruising around in it, so I get ME time in the car, which is great. She's got her hobbies, too.

First time she sat in the Vette was after break in (500 miles). She said the interior was interesting…but does the car “move”, I said yep…and floored it.

She liked it.

We have had a lot of fun trips in my vettes, she has a 2 seater convertable coupe as well so she gets her own fun on but doesn't like the 'anxiety' I give her when we take mine out lol. Life's about making memories so I always cherish our time together.

My wife has become accustomed to a bit of spirited driving now and then in the Corvette. And on a few occasions after I pass on pulling out into traffic she would say I would have gone... She only grabs the door handle when I go fast in a corner like about 0.25G or so. And your exactly correct life is enjoying the limited time you have as much as possible with your loved one.

I'm so looking forward to taking trips in the C8 with my wife. We only do day trips in the C5 due to it's showing it's age a bit after 19 years.

My wife has supported me and my love of Corvettes since we've been together. She will say she liked my C7 the best but she made a promise about me getting a C8 if our son and wife had a grandchild and being my best friend as well as my wife she's okay with it. Over the years here she is with or Corvette adventures.

On a cruise to St. Michaels', MD

On our Honeymoon where she polished my wheels.

Our trip to Bowling Green.

One of the many Corvette Weekend in Ocean City. MD visits even after we moved to Florida.

Our C6 at Lake Saranac

Our visit to Mt. Dora

Our C7 in Florida

Finally our C8...we've have shared so many great times together with our Corvettes and all the great friends we've made.

I was looking at C7s, wife said get a C8 it looks way better. She likes fast cars and is heavy footed. I often hear “ you drive it to work I get to drive today”. She is down with car shows and likes my lowered 68 GMC C10. She will crank the volume in the C10 and the boat both equipped with subwoofers. Guess I’m lucky.

I lost my wife to lung cancer(never smoked) a little over 8 years ago. She loved fast cars and fast cars and she liked to make them go. She had several fast cars in her lifetime and her last car was a red Jaguar. She was an Irish Italian redhead and I miss her every day. The only way I would nave gotten her out of the driver's seat of the C8 would have been with a crowbar or a winch. This is a picture of her last bike, an MV Agusta Brutale 910R. Brutale in Italian is brutal and it lives up to its name. I still have her bike and Bill Gates can't buy it.

My now EX-wife hated cars too…. Now she has no say in what or how many I have 😁. I’m keeping my Camaro AND buying a C8 as soon as my allocation comes up!
