Difficult to tell what you are asking with the spelling. I assume you are asking should the e-brake engage automatically when in park or should you engage it manually when you put it in park. You must manually engage the e-brake when you put it in park and I would recommend that on steep inclines but not so much on flat ground.

The e-brake will sometimes auto-engage on steep inclines, but will not automatically do it every time you enter Park (which I agree is stupid it doesn't as many vehicles have it as a toggle option).

I ALWAYS press the E-Brake before putting the car in Park. It will do it by itself on an incline, but I do it first anyway. I want it to be muscle memory. The few times that I haven't -on an incline, (my driveway)- the car lurches forward when I release the foot brake and rests on the tranny pawls before the E-brake has a chance to engage. Then when I start the car and put it in Drive, it makes a noise I don't like to hear. .. so...

My habit is E-brake, Park, Off. Release foot brake. .......... Now then ... We used to refer to that as a Hand Brake. Then it got called the Emergency Brake. Next it morphed into the Parking Brake and now its the Electric Brake, making it once again the E-Brake. ... (I still have a car with the dimmer switch on the floor)

I simultaneously push the e-brake and start/stop buttons to park the car - done. No need to put it in Park since it automatically goes into Park when you stop the engine. I wish the e-brake would also automatically engage when you stop the engine.

Interesting. So the brake does engage after turning off the motor. Have you verified?

No it doesn't. I had a typo, I left out the word "wish" and have corrected the post.

I do realize that I could skip a step but I want the muscle memory for other cars I drive, thus the three step routine.

Wow that seems like so much unneeded work.

Me I mostly stop, hit the off switch as I am hitting the door open button and hop out.

Car does the rest, your extra steps are not needed.

I do it like @Zormecteon, which is exactly what the owner’s manual describes:
