I've had two friends total vehicles recently and were pleasantly surprised at the check they received. I follow the used car market pretty closely, and I thought they received at least replacement value at current prices. Both were 10-15 year old vehicles with 150k or so on them, so granted not $100k vehicles, but I think it shows insurance co's have corrected for this crazy market. I think you'll be okay.

I did that in our case. The insurance company just stonewalled me and told me to pound sand. Things did not change until I called the guy who ran into her and told him he better lawyer up unless his insurance company got with the program. We still got screwed out of about 500 bucks on the car and did not get the small medical (about $1200) paid either.
This "get an attorney" stuff is not needed, you don't even know what the insurance company's offer is yet
