Improving cabin noise
I would definitely prefer to eliminate the chk chk chk chk noise of the injectors, it's definitely annoying and not pleasant at all and I would like to increase the perceived roar of the motor. I wonder why this is the soundtrack GM gave the C8 and what can be done to improve it.
SIDEBAR
My NPP is also quieter than my two C7's really only hear it at WOT. RE engine noise, Tadge said, and I found the path, that they tried to get some good engine sounds close to your ear! He said because the bad engine noises are all up front, AC Compressor, alternator, water pump, timing chain gears and belt tensioner are very close to your ear that used a lot of insulation on the back of the cabin. He said when they checked other ME cars the found Ferrari used 9 mm thick glass between the cabin and engine. He said Ferrari uses nothing heavy unless needed. So they used the same thickness. It's twice as thick as the windshield and 3 times thicker than the side glass.
In an interview he said the ducted some "good" intake air sucking sound closer to your ear. Was not sure what he meant but found it- see pics.
When switching to a low restriction air filter saw the two ducts that go to the rear fender air scoops.
Used my fiber optic camera to see where they went and what Tadge mentioned.
He said the routed the intake noise close to your ear. He discussed the passage as in the upper part of the side scoop. It's not into the cabin but closer to the thin side window glass! I do get a little more sucking sound at WOT but not like my C7 with a low restriction air filter system.
Pick-up a little more air intake sucking sound. But like with the NPP exhaust at WOT. Does not come close to the 14" X 5" high K&N filter on the 8.2 Liter engine in my street rod. The sucking sound at WOT is as loud as the exhaust thru long tube headers, straight thru Borla mufflers! Never happen with the C8!
