Likely dimming due to ambient light conditions or something obstructing the sensor making it think it is dark out. I believe it is adjustable in the settings but I'm not sure.
Going under a bridge or entering other dark areas (pulling into your garage, etc.). Otherwise, time for a visit to the dealer to look at the ambient light sensor.
Thanks will take to dealer to be safe only 11,600 miles just noticed doing this now and then, Will check with different light early am and pm. I have it set on auto adjust. Thanks R,
Never drove a C8 question. Are the display screens clearly visible when there's bright sunshine outside? The reason I ask is the LCD screen in my 2010 Cadillac DD are not visible at all in the presence of bright sunlight.
BTW: The only time I've been in a C8 was as a passenger, for two laps, at Spring Mountain! Three months later I placed an order with MM.
Unless driving at night, I have the lighting rheostat (located by the parking brake switch) turned to full bright. That way when I enter my garage and the lighting switches to night mode, the infotainment screen is still bright enough for me to see my alignment stripe with the front cameras. At night I readjust it for the ambient conditions.
