(if you don't prep it correctly when its new it will leave a light wax trail on the paint that wipes off and you should not use it on a hot or damp car)

Now excuse me while I go dust mine for a afternoon ride...
As mentioned before, I use the cotton version from Griots. But they sell a microfiber version, and for that one the video suggest misting it with speed shine. The video also says "dusters have their limits" and if you have heavy dust or a concern about what to use, consider a lubricated microfiber towel instead.

I tried one years ago, and simply do not like or trust them. It takes me about the same amount of time to remove light dust with a CR Spotless water system and let air dry. The water is virtually 100% pure and leaves no spots.

Touching the car with anything runs the risk of swirls no matter how careful one is. I try to minimize doing that except when applying ceramic detailer/renewer after a full wash.

If mine has road grime I wash it....Duster won't get that for sure...

I used one for many years but have stopped using them as I did notice micro scratches. And I did use it properly, put it on some newspaper when new, hold it up so it doesn't rest on the surface, wipe in one direction, not swirling around or back and forth.

I use Mckees37 and mix it up into a waterless wash formula and use it with good quality deep knap microfiber towels from The Rag Company or Autofiber. Spray the surface and wipe with the towels and just wipe in one direction, not back and forth, and fold the towel into 4's and change sides for each panel. And as you move the towel you kind of roll it upward as you get to the end of the panel.

Another one that just hit the market recently is P&S Absolute. Between P&S and Mckees, both of these products produce very good lubrication, which is what you need when wiping the surface.

Love mine. Very gently go over the car. Never a scratch.

Saw no need to double the expense and went with plastic 15 years ago.
