True story. Was not in the market for a Vette. Was actually buying a new truck. Got the "deal" on the new truck sent to me and the wife said "F-that!!! That is stupid, just go buy a Corvette while your still young enough to enjoy it!"
So that's exactly what I did.
Vette was $5k less than the truck would have been.
Dealerships everywhere. Parts readily available and relatively inexpensive. Aftermarket warranties for 8 additional years or 125k miles for a few grand
Have a modified c8? Who cares...
Blow the engine, there'll be plenty in junk yards. Blow the transmission there'll be plenty in junk yards.

My daily beater is a 2023 Sierra Denali with the 3.0 Duramax. I love it, nearly 30 mpg and the most comfortable vehicle I have owned. I've always been a GM diesel truck guy but have always wanted a C8 since 2020. My C8 is being built on 8/2!
My daily driver is my 2020 corvette z51 with mrc shocks. Love this car and drives great in the snow too. 3 years in and the vehicle looks in better shape than me.
I’ll be laughing and smiling as long as possible and without a doubt I’ll be taking a dirt nap and my shiny nice 2020 c8 will be looking great for decades to come.
for those that use trucks, love trucks in addition to corvettes that new truck looks awesome!
My wife's '23 Grand Cherokee stickered for $70k (we purchased for $63k). When people get bent out of shape at the crappy service they get at the dealer in their Corvette, not understanding there are many other run of the mill vehicles that cost the same or more.
i often remark on how the corvettes are almost never the most expensive car on a chevy dealer lot. local by me has 3 pickups and a tahoe that are more than a well equipped c8.
This must be a new meaning of the word 'beater' that i wasn't previously aware of
No violence involved...
I think winter beater is kind of a Midwest term. In 1972, my daily driver was a 1970 Plymouth AAR 'Cuda 340 six-pack. I stored it for the winter and drove a 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury 2-door HT as my winter beater. It had over 80k miles, a lot of dings and dents, and a broken rear leaf spring... I paid $100 and drove it 2 winters!
