Default Additional Allocations?

Hi everyone,
Got a question regarding dealer 2024 Stingray allocations. I know we are in the first 2024 order cycle. I just ordered a '24 Stingray last Friday. The dealer did not have a Stingray allocation, so my order is sitting there. At least the factory accepted it (no constraints on my option list-so far). My sales guy said they may get a Stingray allocation this week. Can dealers get additional allocations within a given order cycle? Or are they handed out 1 time per cycle? Second question: Does anyone know when the next order cycle will be opened up?

I am either going to trade in my '16 Z51 Stingray 2LT (2,700 miles) or sell it before snow flies here in the Chicago area. Going to miss it, but can't wait to get the C8.....

Thanks much!

If they did not have an allocation, it is sitting at 1100. While the build may not have a constraint currently, with each new allocation the constraint list is updated.

I'm just curious if, after a dealer gets an initial allocation at the start of an order cycle, if they can be handed more later in the cycle.

Also, wondering when the next order cycle will be upon us.....

…not entirely sure I completely believe this story, but my dealer initially told me I was next up and they were getting 1 allocation, according to the consensus GM did late the week of 7/17…then on allocation day, Thurs., 7/27, they told me what they meant was I was next up after this allocation…yeah, something’s fishy because they were ON FIRE for me to get my build (1LT NO options whatsoever) to them as soon as they found out they were getting one. Then, Fri., 7/28, I get another call that said GM actually gave them 2 allocations, not just the one they knew they were getting…I gave them my deposit and I just found out this morning from the Corvette Concierge my order is at 3000…. So according to my dealer, they can be told they’re only getting one allocation during consensus, but it’s possible they can actually get more than that on allocation day…

BandDirector, in a different forum thread you indicated having a deposit with Criswell made on 7 Sept 22. Did your allocation come through Criswell or did you get one through another dealer? Not trying to get into your business, i am just curious because I have a deposit at Criswell made 28 Mar 22 and I still do not have an allocation, although I have been told it is coming up.

No proof or attribution at all but I thought I read on here somewhere that some dealers got a bit more 2023 allocation toward the end of the build year...

I also have an allocation question and I'm sure someone has answered it but I can't seem to find it.
When a dealer receives their allocation(s) do they get them throughout the month on certain days or are they given out all at once?
Also, does a dealer have option constraints to their allocation or are the constraints strictly the availability of the options at the time the allocation is received?

Thank you

C8 allocations are once a month. 2023’s did have one cycle for Stingray, and then another cycle for Z06, but they’re now on the same cycle for 2024 models. Not sure how ERay will play into that.

Today was consensus day for the 2nd 2024 C8 order cycle. All that happens during consensus is that dealers are told how many allocations they should get, but the actual allocations don’t drop until a week later, so next Thursday., 8/17 is allocation day. Dealers don’t find out what THEIR constraints are until allocation day once the constraints are known, they start matching orders to allocations. However, just because one dealer might have a constraint on options, doesn’t mean another dealer will have the same constraints. For example, the new color Cacti is on constraint for ALL dealers this order cycle. However things like Z51 vs non-Z51 can vary from dealer to dealer…but as of right now, neither is on constraint for this 2nd order cycle…

Yup got an 8 yo car with 2700 miles, in Chicago, you’ll be fine. Will have your c8 in the spring.

Allocations? No one really knows gm handed out smaller dealer allocations out of the blue a year or so ago.

then there’s that pending strike?

My dealer AutoNation told me they release allocations on Thursday, 2 weeks in a row 0 allocations.
