1. DCT is a manual
2. Just as with 60's muscle cars, the people who want to row gears will eventually fail to represent enough market share to justify supply
3. Expect that the niche of people who want to row will have to turn to more and more niche offerings and shouldn't expect any mainstream support

...Might I suggest an Emira and not a C8?
I wouldn't call Cadillac a niche offering and they still offer a car with a manual transmission as standard. Cadillac reported that almost half of the Blackwings sold in 2023 were manuals so there still is a market for a manual gearbox.

Yes. Which is why Porsche has the same mindset as well.
But the market has consolidated, and will continue to consolidate. I've pointed this out multiple times. As the take rates on MTX drop, fewer cars will offer them. As fewer cars offer them, the buyers will flock to remaining models that still offer them--and the take rates on those will subsequently increase.
The simple truth is, the market cannot sustain demand for rowing gears across the entire spectrum. And the offerings will become more and more specialized and niche as the segment contracts. That's just how it is. Take rate on 1 particular trim of 1 particular car will be artificially high; yet when you look at all the cars sold industry-wide across a given MY, the MTX take rate is probably below 5% on a good day.

Predictably, JerryU bestows us with a copy/paste underscoring his anemic eyesight for the 9571st time.
He only does it because you keep on insisting we all should pick your Safety Vest color! No thanks!
I've never insisted upon everyone picking it. I merely wanted the opportunity to purchase it on my own ER. A choice that was removed before I even had a remote shot at any allocation. And I'm exceedingly tired of others insisting that if I wanted AYM so badly, I should have bought one in a previous MY....you know, before there ever was an AWD corvette in the first place.

BORING?? I still laugh every time I scroll past this thread.
I just completed level 2 at Spring Mountain after 4500 miles of driving our c8 vert. An entirely new respect for the c8 Stingray’s capabilities was obtained. Have had c2’s, c3’s, c4’s, c6’s (Z06, ZR1), c7 (Z06), and c8 Stingray. The c8 does ‘fast’ in a totally different manner but ain’t boring once you let it know you wanna go fast and take control of the tech features.
