I had to drive my C8 HTC through a foot of floodwater (essentially up to the top of the wheels) for 5 miles. Does anyone know if there is a chance of possible damage to the vehicle?

Thank you in advanced.
If water was to the top of the wheels it would be just under 2 foot of water, not 1 foot. Was water coming into your C8? Seems it would be if water was better than 1/2 way up your doors. Water would also be well up into your engine compartment.
I assume if no water got into the passenger and engine compartments it must not have been that deep.

Gotta ask... why on earth would you attempt to drive through roughly 20 inches of water? Forget about damage to the car, this is an extremely dangerous practice for your own life and safety.

Sounds like you made it👍. If not, you would be posting a different question. As long as no water made it into the cabin or the engine you might be ok. I guess time will tell with funny sounds or a CEL/ code.
Check for moisture under the carpet, inside the cabin air filter, check motor oil. If those are dry, go buy a lotto ticket because you are lucky😜
A foot of water, and to the top of the wheels are two completely different situations. Sounds more like ‘just’ a foot of water to me. Up to the top of the wheels….for 5 miles??? Car would be f’d…

That was my point in my above post, if water is to top of wheels then he's sitting in water and his drivetrain and most of his engine is submerged.

We had 7 inches of rain in a very short time. I friend who lives in our CC got stuck in a 2+ foot puddle with her new SUV. All electronics stopped. It, like the Vette has an electronic inside latch. She could not get out. Water was rising and coming into her SUV. A fellow leaving the Club stopped with his truck parked out of the dip in the street. He was able to open her door from the outside. She said as he helped her walk to his truck on higher ground with water hip high by then. The insurance company totaled the car. She using an insurance covered rental until they find her a matching SUV!

IF you drove 5 miles in a foot of water, sure there could be damage to the car. Hard to believe that you actually drove that far in flooded streets. If no damage was done, you should go out and buy a lottery ticket.
