I recently had my windows tinted here in Houston by an Xpel-certified installer. I went with Xpel Prime XR Plus, 50% on the windshield, 15% on the sides & rear.
After ~3 weeks of curing, I’m noticing imperfections in the windshield and the rear (sides are perfect). It really isn’t noticeable from a distance; however, I dropped it off at a shop to have ceramic coated and they highly suggested I have the windshield redone before they detail the car and proceed.
I think I know my answer and plan to call the shop to discuss, but my question is more on is it realistic to expect perfection with this install? Am I trading in a few imperfections for potentially more imperfections due to the difficulty of install? The shop is highly reputable and the prices corroborate it.
You should take the car back to the installer and see if they can correct the bubbles. The areas with the "bumps" are difficult to tint over and bubbles do sometimes occur.
Also be ready for all the internet lawyers who will talk about how it's against the law to tint the windshield. Know this is how it all starts burning ants as a child, then tinting your windshield, and then you become a triple axe killer!! I just hope you have a good REAL lawyer I do for tinting the windshield and heading down this path!!

Could be that it is illegal in his state to tint the windshield. But, that is an issue he has to face should he be stopped for it. Just from the one pic, it does seem pretty dark.
If you are not happy with how the tint looks, then go back to the installer and discuss. If they are a top notch shop, they should be willing to work with you to make it to your satisfaction or at least provide justification as to why what you are seeing is the best it will be.

Houston cops dont really mess with people with darkass tint unless it's a suspicious looking car. Actually if you have a higher end looking car, they dont really mess with you. Ive been driving around with a custom carbon fiber plate someone made me and it looks almost like a real license plate and no cops have stopped me yet.
I had the same experience. Went back to the shop and he said trust me give it a few weeks and all will be ok.
I did and he was right.
Id give it time before having it redone but get them to say if it dies not cure they will fix it.
That Xpel stuff is great. There’s tint and then theirs Xpel top of the line. I was so impressed I had my wife’s black suv done. Incredible how it helps in the sc heat.
I don't know anything about tinting. I don't like white cars, .....
but the white C8 with black top, dark windows, looks amazing!!!
I am a black car guy but that white would be my second choice.

TIA
that would drive me nuts, but I’m already there, another reason I’m only doing the door windows.
good luck, bring it back
At this point, the bubbles should have disappeared. I would try to get a retint from them.
Ive heard there will almost always be an imperfection or two in a windshield because of the size of the material, but that’s just way too many.
