My wife's '21 1LT does not have the camera-LCD-mirror so rear view is pretty poor.
In my '23 2LT, I have the camera-LCD-mirror but there is also a camera app that allows me to, among other things, turn on the backup camera, duplicating the camera-LCD-mirror with a much wider field of view.
I wish there was a similar camera app in the 1LT. Does any one of you with a '22 or '23 1LT have the camera app? It would be nice if there was a way to have that app in the 1LT because sometimes merging in another street at an angle is very difficult.
Second issue: in the 2LT, once I have turned on the backup camera through the app, there is apparently no way to turn it off unless I turn off the ignition. That's also irritating.

Just press the home button under the volume control.
We put a man on the moon in 1969 with a slide rule basically, you would think by now computers would work a little better.
it’s always the “nut behind the wheel”. The computers do only what they have been told to do and like you see so often, a big gap between programmer and end user. BTW I still have my slide rule in my desk drawer….and the batteries are still good! 😂
Press the physical home button to the left of the screen to exit the camera view.
That was the first thing I tried of course. Does not work on my car. The home button otherwise works when I am not in the camera view
The screen is still responsive, there are 4 buttons at the bottom of the screen to switch between front and backup cameras and I can do that. I just can't exit the app. No big deal, just irritating.

What do you mean by "camera app"? I'm asking about the use of the word "app" in this context? Are you referring to the rear vision camera that is activated when you back up? What is the app to which you refer that turns it on "duplication the camera -LCD-mirror...."?

I still keep my father-in-law's old slide rule on my desk.

I have a 2022 2LT HTC and the only way I can cancel the Camera View is to turn the screen off by holding in the volume button -- then momentarily push the volume button to turn the screen back on. The home button doesn't do it.

I won this in a science fair - a long long time ago, in a place not so far away. It was not too long after that, Hewlett Packard introduced the HP35 (for 400 bucks new).

I am referring to the "Camera" icon in the home screen. Press the Home button (maybe twice, depending on what you were doing) and you have a number of icons including Apple Carplay and Android Auto. One of those (at least in my '23 2LT) is named "Camera". My wife's '21 1LT does not have it. The 2LT has a few more such apps, like the PDR.

Beautiful!
I went through University (MSEE, a long time ago in a country far away...) with a 5 inch Log-Log slide rule that was missing the cursor... It made it a bit challenging looking up the scales that were near the bottom, but back in those days, getting you within striking range of the answer was sufficient to demonstrate that you knew how to do it, as long as you could explain how you did it. These were the days, no multiple choice questions

Thanks. I have a 2021 3LT. But I was not aware of that app and I may not have it. I will have to look.

Wow!
Pickett and Post ...
Used my K + E in engineering orientation in 1966 and then came the HP series ...
For my first two years ('71-'73) in Engineering (BSME) I used a slide rule otherwise know as a "slip stick". You could always tell who the engineering students were since we usually had one hanging from our belt. In '73 only the rich kids could afford the new HP-35 as it was $400, but it all changed in '74 when the Texas Instruments SR-50 came out at a cost of around $125. Our professors just flat out told us that we would need one from now on as the tests would get longer and harder. Only a very few of the guys who were especially good with a slip stick held on to and used them, all the rest of us mere mortals got a Ti SR-50 and the rest is, as they say, history.
I too wish there was a way to leave the reverse camera on the screen. I highly recommend installing wide angle mirrors over your existing side mirrors. They completely eliminate the blind spot, look totally factory and only cost me $90. I got mine from CCA.
