I've always questioned why GM would show off that engine under glass but put such a bland cover on a $70,000+ car. Now only going to be worse doing that to the $110,000+ ERay. For the price you can't beat the quality, workmanship, and customer service of Racereadypanels. I'm very picky but Will was a rockstar to work with. Plus his response time is 2nd to none. You will get a response back right away. LOVE my multi colored cover but... anyone who is ordering the single color covers from GM should stop right away. Not only can Will provide the exact same thing, Will's are better looking and have a painted emblem. They are actually less expensive too, once you return your cover. Here's the one I had made but check out their site as they have tons of examples to look at for ideas.

The OEM Edge Red Covers aren't so bland IMO. I quite like them:
Kevin, you are correct. I was talking about the stock ones. What I mentioned about the option ones, like yours. They look very nice but for less money you could get that same one from Racereadypanels BUT with the flags painted. Just me but if you stamp the emblem on the cover shouldn't it be painted? I almost would like it w/o the emblem instead of the mono scheme. Again very nice option but I believe Will provides a little more for the money.
Like many here, painted mine. A lot cheaper and looks pretty good.
Yes it does. That painted flag makes all the difference. Your cover is how it should come from the factory. Though since it doesn't we have a great option in FL.
It's just a painted plastic cover . They all look the same and don't have any function other then trying to dress up the engine. I would have liked the intake to have been better dressed where it was the show piece of the engine similar to Ferrari and Lambo's approach. Also dress up the valve covers with maybe a wrinkle paint and the flags or lettering. My 2 cents

I prefer OEM options/features over aftermarket, however to each their own, of course.
I ordered the OEM red from shopchevyparts and added a few personal touches it (hood emblem, yellow lettering, and ACY Zora coin).
A lot of the ones, painted by the various 3rd parties, look very nice but they are way overpriced in my opinion. The OEM gray cover is like $120 new in the box, so $700-$1000+ just seems excessive to me. Keeping in mind, $500 for the GM OEM RED is also ridiculous to me as well.

I would rather see a stylized version the actual intake plenum, made from a more attractive material. If you look at some of the LT2 engine cutaways created for display purposes, you will see that the plenum (which is also partly cutway) is made from a more attractive material, rather than the ugly black composite/plastic. There still using an engine cover in those displays, but they could have stylized the plenum making the cover unnecessary.

Yea I agree. I loved and was a huge fan of the looks of my tune port injection Vette engines. Though I'm ok with the painted plastic covers now. Just started this to give props to my painter and to let others know they were out there and that they were worth every dime to me.
Bland?! Perhaps. I tossed the idea around for the painted options available as there are many great looking ones to choose and in fact had one picked out....but, with the engine appearance package on my C8, I feel it blends wonderfully as GM provided for me as is!

Bored while waiting patiently for MM eray and decided to make some garage wall art. The fuel line and gauge are held on with magnets. No intention of actually installing on the car but could be fun to mess with my nosy neighbor for a day or two before making its way to the garage wall!!
