Default Lowering a C8

I don't have a C8 yet, still in my C7, but I saw a video today with the Chevy Guy where he mentioned that a C8 he just bought had been modified and one was that it was lowered with a lowering kit. I can only assume he is not referring to the lowering bolts. Or does the C8 require a kit to lower it.

Because it looks so much better without the huge wheel gap. That's why every concept sports car and most show cars have little to no wheel gap.

The C8 has Coil overs all around and threaded collars that will allow it to be lowered some. If you get the front end lift, the OEM front cannot be lowered, but there are aftermarket parts that will allow the front to be lowered even with the front end lift feature. It may void warranty coverage on some of the suspension if Chevy so decides.

If the car has front lift then lowering collars would be required to lower the front. If no lift you can get these...

The C8 does not use "lowering bolts" as the previous year models required. Simply get the correct spanner wrenches and adjust the spring perches to suit.

Just a clarification, only Z51s and/or cars with MSRC have the threads on the shocks to lower the car. And the front lift eliminates the threads on the front.

You can also lower a Non Z-51 car with aftermarket springs or coil overs.

All depends on the C8 build(non Z51, magride, Z51, front lift, etc)

Eibach and Paragon Springs fit all combos

z51/magride have OEM coilovers that can be turned down and/or lowering springs.

front lift cars can use front lower collars and turn down rear coilovers and/or lowering springs

Here’s a vid that discusses lowering options:

Chevy will void a warranty on front lift cars if lowering collars are used when there is front lift damage. They have a bulletin out notifying dealers.
Changing out the coils is the only option with front lift.
Do a search for it on here.

Chevy will not void the warranty on the car. They simply won't cover any warranty issues with the front shocks if one has collars installed and has a problem. Lowering collars are an option if one so decides to take that route. I've had collars on my 2020 w/Front Lift since the first month I got the car (Special Ordered it Sept 2019) Picked it up Sept 2020. Going on 3 years now with no issues what so ever and I use the front lift multiple times every time I drive it. So, changing out the coils is not the only option. Just because a few have had issues with front collars installed, doesn't mean everyone will. It could be the installation of the collars was done incorrectly.

Never understood why anyone would want to lower a car which is so low in the first place.

Once you lower your car once, you'll get it.

Then you should question why GM doctors the stock photos in their C8 marketing media to depict a ride height that's lower than real stock height. Even the OEM of the car you bought understands why.

My car is Z51(non-magride) with collars turned down and Eibachs installed and I have zero ride complaints.

My car is lowered all the way on the stock coils and I cant tell any difference in ride at all. In fact I just bought a set of Paragon springs to lower it another inch.

Lowering on stock springs should not affect ride harshness other than if it causes you to bottom out more often.
