Default BlendMount Causing Mirror Vibration Issue

I installed the BMG-2028 BlendMount in my 2023 C8 HTC and now the weight of the Escort Redline 360c is causing the mirror to vibrate. That mirror is difficult enough to use without the vibration. I haven't tried to correct the issue yet. My fix will be to try to adjust the BlendMount to move the radar detector more directly below the mirror so there is less of a moment acting on the mirror. (Moment=Force x distance). Since I can't reduce the force, the only thing I can do is to try to reduce the distance. Currently, the radar detector is behind/below the mirror toward the windshield.

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this issue and what corrective measures they took. TIA.

You might try some of that rubber cushion tape. It may help. Mine does it a little with my V1 as well. It’s just not bad enough to worry about.

I have mine pretty tucked up to the mirror and have experienced no issues over the past 2 years. I can report the same for the 5+ years I had one installed on my C7 too. I think tucking it up high & close may the be key.

No vibrations on my 23. I can see how that would be difficult to use the mirror.

Check that your mirror is mounted solidly.

I just installed mine and solid as a rock. The top piece that slides into mirror mount was tough to get in properly. You may want to make sure that is installed properly. The mount itself does not touch the mirror, so it should not be causing it to vibrate.

If you have a RD with arrows it needs a view to the rear for the rear detector to work properly. It doesn't need to be perfect but blocking it completely with the mirror would effect the rear performance.

Indeed. The Redline 360c has to also have a bit of clearance below the mirror so that you have sufficient room to lift it up for removal.

When I first installed mine (Uniden R8) it would vibrate the mirror too. I reoriented it so it was directly under the mirror which essentially removed the long moment arm attached to the mirror mount and that nearly eliminated the vibration. When I had the arm extended and the detector closer to the windshield it would vibrate unacceptably.

That's good to hear. I adjusted mine today, but haven't had a chance to see if it worked.

Have used Blend Mount on a number of my Vettes and never have had a vibration issue,

C8 is running with an Escort 360c without issue. Have uploaded 2 pics. Did u get the new mounting bracket for the C8? I did.

I had a mirror vibration issue with my Blendmount (for Uniden R7) and emailed Blendmount about it and they said to make sure everything is as tight as possible to include the arm that wraps around the mirror. Metal should be touching metal. Also, they said don’t worry about stripping the screws as it is not possible.

Personally, tighten at your own risk. I’m just telling you what they told me and, if I remember correctly, majority of the vibration went away. This was back in 2021.

Good luck!!
