Does anyone know if the rear trunk is vented. I believe that the trunk may be vented to the back of the car, and there may be some kind of flaps to regulate that. I have mentioned this in other threads, more as a question than an assertion, hoping someone would have more information about that. I have attached some illustrations the explain the basis for my question. First, near the bottom of the trunk, and toward the back of the car, on the right and left corners of the trunk liner, there are louvers. A close up of one shows that there is something behind - its not completely open - but it might be flap or something that can allow air to flow. An illustration of that same area, with the liner removed, taken from the service manual appears to show something that looks like vent louvers. I think these are artists renditions, rather than actual photos, and sometimes details that are not relevant to the procedure are not exactly right. But something is there. Now if you look on the other side, with the fascia removed, the service manual also shows something that looks like a vent in those to spots. Note they are depicted differently in two different illustrations - but again something is there. An actual photo of that area shows that there is a rubber/vinyl flap - again suggesting a possible vent.

With regards to the service manual illustrations being artist renditions, they are likely generated from CAD models and shaded to make to make the features clear. This is quite common these days and CAD packages have specific modules to make assembly views.

I don't doubt it. But two different illustrations depict that area differently. I forgot to include the second version but I have added it now to my previous post. Notice that the rear view of the area where the "vents' may be are shown differently. It may be that one is just showing an extra part.
One of the CAD illustrations does not show the two, horizontal louvered cover. This cover is (likely, I couldn't find any images on the web to show) under that rubber flap. Having the flap is good measure to keep any water particles out. Imagine it just like a snorkel with a blowout valve.
It is for the same purpose as the C7's vent.
Because the area is sealed with weatherstripping, you need to allow the air to escape when the hatch is closed.
That image may be used in another section of the manual that required the component to be hidden and they just reused the image.
For the OP, the vents you show may vent air trapped above the aero panels BUT having taken my truck out to change my air filter there are no visible vents where you can "put your CAT as someone suggested might be your reason!"
Here are some pics: Many bolts removed to remove truck liner
Those top holes are where the supports that hold the removed roof go.
There is also NO AIR entering the Truck that needs to be vented!
For those what have not replaced their air filter, have to remove the truck to access this air filter cover. Remove the 6 bolts holding the cover in place and you finally can remove and replace the air filter. If you have a high wing see if you have an NBA Player in your area!

Jerry, your photos are showing the other part of the liner - the part on the bottom and toward the front. And all of you photos are also showing the the view toward the front (of the car). But the vent louvers are clear there in my photos and illustrations. Those vents louvers are in my liner, and also in the photo of a removed liner as posted in post 1.

Hmm, I did not see where they were when tech replaced my pull down motor system.
Top two pics from my car, bottom from another. The Vents may be there as I say to vent air above the aero panels (or even below to act like a diffuser). BUT don't see where the vents are in the truck liner OR where the air comes into the truck area.
Sure doesn't help to keep it cool! I may not be right BUT have not seen where the fresh air is coming in needing vents to have it leave in the trunk itself!

Reach down there in your trunk with your hand and see if you can feel them. They cant be seen just by looking in. I had to hold my camera down there to take the the close up photo in post 1. Mine is an HTC. But the other pic I posted of a totally removed liner set came from a coupe and it shows those louvers in the liner as well. Here are photos of me trying to point out where they are.

Messing with installing diverters on my gutters so no time. BUT Andy, I accept your word. Did not put my hand in the wound BUT like Many Have Done For Centuries, - accept the WORD!

Let me know when you get a chance to check for them. You don't take anything apart. Just reach down where those arrows are and you should find them.
My real question wasn't if the louvers are in the liner - it was are they really vents - it does appear that there is an opening behind them that goes all way through - but I still don't know how it works. Actual photos show that rubber flap on the outside. One illustration in the service manual shows what appear to be possibly adjustable louvers - could be pressure activated or is there something that moves them? I cant find anything yet in the Service Manaul that addressed that flap or that little louver looking thing that appears in one of the illustrations.
