If you have the money, buy it. If you don’t, then don’t. If you are unsure, you don’t, so don’t. I did, so I did.
this as well. Don’t buy it if you don’t have the money. I’ve noticed there are a very many a C8 owner out there that really can’t afford it and shouldn’t be doing it.
Are you absolutely positive your feet will land on the floor when you get up? What are you waiting for....life is waaaayyy too short and there are no guarantees for tomorrow. Live for the day!
I'm a long time Corvette owner. I started at age 25 and 44 years later I'm still in the hobby. Owning Corvettes for so long I eventually got involved in a Corvette Club. I meet my late wife of 23 years by being involved with Corvettes. So glad I bought my first one, a used late mid year C3, back in 1979. I now own a C8, C7, and C4. So go for it.

I get the trepidation; I was on the fence for a long time. I was on my second Hellcat when I finally made the leap. What caught my eye initially was the ride quality, I read that the C8 had really improved ride quality making it a natural daily driver and long-distance driving car. I've owned a C4 and a C5 and while I liked them both for different reasons, but ride quality wasn't high on the list of good things. Of course, I didn't believe what I was reading chalking it up to advertising a new model. By chance I was at my local chevy dealer for one of my other cars and they had a used 2022 C8 Coupe they were selling. I test drove it and it was fantastic. I sold my Hellcat and drove my C8 everywhere and the best part of my long trips is driving that car. I recently sold my 22 but only because I ordered a 24 convertible (3000 Mid August).
I'm sure you won't regret buying one but do the homework, take a test drive if you can.
I had a similar dilemma many years ago when I couldn't decide whether or not to get my first real sports car (read: spend big $$ on a car I don't need). I asked my dad and his answer was also a question: Will your life improve if you don't spend the money? That's exactly what I needed to hear, bought the car a few days later. No regrets then, none today.
I say, if you can afford it, get a C8. In fact, if you can afford a Bugatti Chiron, then definitely buy that....or if you still want the C8, get 30 of them.
It's not perfect (no car is), but overall it's the best Corvette ever. It can do almost everything well, from blasting around a track, having a blast on roads like the Tail of the Dragon, 10 or 12 hour days on a road trip getting nearly economy car mpg, or tooling around town at low speed.
If you can afford it, buy it. I doubt you will regret it. I have had mine for over 2 years and have nearly 12,000 miles on it, and I still look forward to getting behind the wheel. When we have nothing else to do, my wife and I jump in it, put the top down, and drive down the coast. Awesome experience.
