The E-Ray has a solution. To allow stealth mode, the parking pawl can be unlocked electrically. GM / Tremec should have included this for the Stingray DCT, too. That wouldn't help the OP with a dead battery, of course, but it would solve other situations where the car won't start.
With the parking brake on, dragging the car out of the garage and onto a flatbed while in park is probably about as harmful to the tires and drive train as coming to a stop for a stop sign from 30 mph.
I've watched many a wrecked vehicle drug onto the flatbed with locked up wheels, and they seldom even leave a mark on the pavement.
Many to great lengths to avoid a 20' 1mph slide up onto a flatbed, then do launch control runs when we get it back.
Gm ON Star specifically told their driver NOT to drag my car onto his flatbed without skids or dollies- they would not be responsible for any rear differential or other damage. I had to wait 5 hrs for a tow company with same. This made me think though they loaded it with skids how did they unload it? He dropped the car after 11 when there was no-one there
Fully dead batteries sometimes will not come back no matter what is done with/to them. Pull a battery out of something else that is fully charged and take into your garage to try "jumping" it, but if your battery is fully dead there may be no hope. Btw, "battery tenders" (of any sort not just that brand) may not charge a fully dead battery either. All the best in any event.

Not being able to put the car in nuetral isn't a big deal, the C8 isn't alone in the modern world.
It could be a real problem if the car is in a dangerous spot or blocking traffic. The fact that other cars do the same is no excuse for lousy design. Personally, I would seriously hate it if my car was in a bad spot because of a mechanical or electrical failure and I can't move it for some stupid design choice/laziness and it got wrecked.

No engineer specified that. A lawyer specified that.
You would not think twice about locking up the brakes at 60mph, or downshifting three gears at 60mph to get to 20mph. But a 1mph 20' drag give us conniptions.
well shoot. I def don't have that tool. Will they be able to tow it?? Battery reads 1.6v. It's parked in garage facing forward.
The tool costs $600. To move the car with the tool, someone has to ride in the trunk, continually holding the tool to keep the transmission in neutral.
When doing a full panic stop with the foot brake it is the disc brakes that stop the car. Although not relevant, the wheels are not actually locked up. The ABS allows some turning for optimal braking.
But when the car is disabled , it is held only by the rear wheels, by the parking pawl inside the transmission and the very small epb calipers. Its possible that dragging the car will allow excessive pressure on the parking pawl which will damage the transmission. I would heed the warning in the manual.
if it was my car, I would go out and buy a brand new battery and replace so that I could start car and not have it towed, we've spent over 80K on these cars, whats another $300.00

I would put a real battery charger on it overnight as I would much rather start it and drive it in for service than have it loaded on a flatbed.
Things just seem to often happen to cars that are towed/flatbedded
Op just pull the battery out, charge it and replace it in the car. No need to roll the car out to a charger, bring out just the battery. I’m sure someone nearby has areal charger. They are cheap anyway vrs a tow.
I had real battery charger I used on mine. When I connected it I started to hear too many clicks and odd noises and the charge needle did not move. I pulled the battery out and charged it wo a problem.
On this car I’d disconnect the battery before I’d use a real charger.
