Seems my card is almost full- Ive wiped it before but now no access to format function in car nor can i access videos

Any suggestions?

Manual gives little info though I did read this little tidbit

." Law enforcement authorities may have the right to seize video recordings and use them as evidence of criminal/driving offenses against you or third parties."

I have been recording over 2 years. Just set mine to record over the oldest version. Still going strong!
I think mine is a 250 GB

Pull out the SD card and format it in a computer. Use exFAT.
Long term, get a bigger card.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. IF I were to be driving in a "very spirited manner" and some Karen called me in to the po-po, if they pulled me over later on can they confiscate the SD card? Would they need a warrant or does that fall under probable cause?

I'll have to time myself to see how long it'd take me to remove and hide the card in the "very unlikely" event such an incident would take place. Just out of curiosity of course 😉

Short answer- Highly unlikely.
Perhaps if your driving escapades resulted in death, serious injury or significant property damage, or your are very very unlucky

Is your SD card a high endurance card? Cards that get a lot of write cycles (i.e., PDR, dash cams, security cameras) require high endurance cards for a long life. As mentioned try formatting it in a computer to see if it can be recovered. Most cards have a warranty for at least 5 years, some of them lifetime.

In most states, officers may make a warrantless misdemeanor arrest only if committed in an officer's presence.

Karen could go to the judicial commissioner and swear out a warrant, and and officer could serve it. That ain't going to happen, and she's already talking to the manager about something else by now.
