Update surprise ?
2 weeks ago I received 2 updates in 1 week as many did, bringing the total to 5 on my 12/22 build. I am never in a hurry to load these as my car is running fine and the IT guys at work tell me I never want to be the Beta tester. I have read at least 6 posts on how the one ending in 150 deletes all our custom settings so I was even less eager to load that one. Anyway I took the wifey for our usual Sunday Brunch then had plenty of free time so I loaded the first one uneventfully then went for a short drive to validate everything post update and all was fine! When I went to load the second one, the one ending in 150, it was gone, car said I had no more updates pending. I thought may be it did both at once but there was no indication of that and it only took about 3 min. which is normal for 1 loading. Also all my custom settings and driver mode displays were intact ! Your thoughts ?
Update: Just checked the Update History and there are only 4 not 5 then checked pending for the 3rd time and update ending in 150 is definitely gone!

Same here. Gone. I did not intend to install that latest update anyway due to all the issues I have heard with it. Perhaps GM themselves scrubbed this update?
Something similar has been reported a number of time. One "magically" disappears after the first is completed. Who knows? Btw, my IT guy used to say not to mess unless it wasn't working.
Two people in our Corvette club had the update and it caused their batteries to die. The dreaded update curse! I looked when I got home from a 2 week trip to see if I had any updates pending and I didn’t. It sounds like GM did pull the latest update. Sam

My two recent updates were 7890 and 8150. I am not sure which one deleted the IP drive mode linking, but I had started a thread here and was able to solve it and finally spend some time setting the different drive modes with the info I want. These were the first two updates on my 1/23 Z06 build. I had the driver's window down and my smart charger plugged in. The only issue I had is the IP was locked in te same display for every drive mode. Change one mode and they all changed. My Z-mode performance settings were all retained.

It was 8150 that froze your display modes. That is an easy fix after you know what is going on. Any personal changes you have in your display would have been wiped also, maybe you didn't have any ?

I believe that they did pull it.
My car told me there was an update, but I had just pulled into the garage. I clicked to install the update just before shutting the car off, but when I next drove the car it had not updated, and didn’t show any updates available.
Looks like I dodged this headache.
I hang around the car when it is updating. If it hasn’t completed the update in 15 minutes I would look to see if I could cancel the update. Immediately after the update is done I start the car. I don’t trust starting the update and coming back the next morning to see if it is done. I’ve probably had 4 updates on my 2022 Z51. None have taken more than 3 or 4 minutes. Sam

I forgot to mention I popped the frunk and hooked up the trickle charger.
I also have my home Wi-Fi enabled, so updates should download pretty fast.
Thankfully for whatever reason this one didn’t.
It’s too bad they don’t make only GM employees that own a C8 their beta test group for software changes. LOL. That group probably knows not to install any updates right away to make sure it’s safe! We are the Guinea pigs! Sam
I wonder when/ if they will have a revised update ?
I don’t know, but I won’t be in any hurry to install it.
My car has been flawless since I took delivery in June, so I think I’m going with the old “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” approach.
