Default Engine Cover Question

I'm looking to get a red OEM engine cover for a C8. The standard part number for this item seems to be 12697368 (seen here: https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts...-6-2l-12697368). However, I also found part number 12731709 (seen here: https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts...12731709?c=az0). The latter is also in red, and the diagram for it looks like it's the same part. It's also about $150 cheaper. Does anyone know what the difference is between these two part numbers?

You know we've been completely brainwashed when we think that $267 for a plastic engine cover is a "great price".

Not sure about the second part#, but I know a few on here purchased the #12697368 from 404parts. I believe it was around $365. Now it looks to be $395.

… this site says #12731709 is not for sale. I’d give Tasca a call to confirm.

Don't bother with either. If you really want a great job done you need to check out Racereadypanels. They will do anything you want and if you go with just the red cover they provide that, with the emblem painted, and less money than the OEM's if you return your original cover to them. Check their site as they have many samples to view. Here's what I finally went with. If you're here William, again I can't thank you enough.

I'm not sure why, but I'm seeing something different:

Red mist from a company out of Quebec and the flag colors were from a company called Michaels which is a craft type store in Toronto Canada.

Just to give everyone an update, it looks like 12731709 was just recently discontinued and the website hasn't been updated yet.

I believe this is the correct part number for the edge red engine cover btw...GM 12697368

I purchased mine here roughly 10 months ago...I see it's still available at the same price of $376..
