Great news all in all. Shorter wait times and shorter lists. There is also the car flipper's that get flipped-off, no more!
And screw the dealerships that have markups!
The Montana dealer paid the pre-October $2k markup. It's great they added a $1k discount to the $2k price-hike. Congrat's to them.
MacMulkin seems to have 4-5 cars in their show room. I wonder if they will pass on the $2k to customers.
Going in to the 5th year of production I don’t understand the surprise. Had it not been for the pandemic this would have begun happening at least 2 years ago. Hopefully they can speed up production of the Z06 as well. It’ll be nice to see more of these cars on the road next Summer😎
You are going to see several people posting that they purchased under msrp. The reason is going to be because their order was in before the price increase. However, the window sticker indicates the price increase. So right off the bat, they're gonna say they got a coupe of thousand bucks off. And then dealers like MacMulkin, they deduct all the dealer fees so that you pay msrp, so in the end, for instance, before the October price increase, you're getting about 3000 off of msrp because of price protection.

Yes this has happened quite often. I believe mine was a bit over 3k off from Criswell back in August of last year. My order went in just prior to the May increase.
I cannot express how thrilled I am having paid $5k under MSRP for exactly what I wanted. Took a 12 hour round trip to acquire it, but it was an enjoyable one at that! 😁
This is my first Corvette, having grown up with the dream of one day owning one. I am elated. I wish everyone who aspires to own one gets the same opportunity.

It's because a brand new C8 HTC with 3LT trim is such distressed merchandise. The dealer discounted it $5k because he knew there is no way he could find a buyer at MSRP and would have to sit on it for at least a week before he could get list for the car. He could have taken it to the auction and got MSRP.

My thoughts as well. Why would a dealer do that? Maybe the OP forgot to mention the dealer owed him $5K????
