Hello
Bought brand new corvette from Macmulkin built September 13 2022 and having a nightmare of a time so far. After only a little over a year and 2400 miles i've had some of the strangest issues with the car. The paint surrounding the headlights was chipping off of the fender. I had it repaired under warranty and the headlights aligned properly but lately i've noticed condensation in the headlamp assembly. Yesterday I attempted to get my stuff out of the back trunk before getting my oil change and good thing I was going to the dealership because now the rear hatch is stuck shut. Both buttons on car and the key fob inoperable. Macmulkin has the car now and they're repairing everything under warranty but the car cost me $85k can somebody agree with me that i shouldn't have these issues with a brand new car? I love the car but as a former Mustang guy I am feeling pretty let down with the build quality of this car as it is my first Chevy. If anybody has any input I would love to hear it. Are these common issues? Let me know!
Otherwise this thing rips
Thanks for reading and having me on the forum

Paint chipping or peeling around headlight is a known problem. Other issues can be addressed under warranty. I know it sucks when you pay a lot of money for a car and you expect it to be perfect. What I can assure you of is that when these little things are corrected, you will have a blast and forget about previous issues.
Sorry to hear this, but if you look around here on the Forum you'll see you are not alone. It's hard to explain when other vehicles made in much larger quantity seem (the operative term) to have far fewer issues. If one looks at earlier version Vettes there are always a few issues, but it seems the C8's are all over the ballpark and have been since new ( and running across 2 generations, the headlight paint issue is purely absurd). Obviously, those with issues are far more apt to post than those without... duh, but this seems extreme. Best of luck with the dealership.
Unfortunately these things happens to all makes and models. Had a Dodge Challenger that needed the differential replaced twice within the first 1000 miles and also a new head unit. The headlight thing has been an issue since the C7’s. It’s a machine with a lot of moving parts. Things can go wrong and do. Let them fix it, hope for no other issues, and enjoy the ride.
Apparently, you are one of the unlucky ones. It is bothersome to see a fellow member's enthusiasm pop like a balloon. If I were you I would keep all maintenance documents, it's unknown what the future holds.
There is absolutely no excuse for this especially the pAint chipping thing around the headlights. What will it take for General Motors to address this simple issue that’s been an issue for years now.

I too am a Former Ford guy, but have yet to experience any issues after 2 months of ownership. Good luck in the resolution of these issues, and hopefully no more problems will pop up.

Congrats brother! Keep an eye out for common issues. wish you the best of luck as well. What color is yours?
So am I but I am keeping mine just in case. I've been lucky so far with all my Vettes and Stangs, had only minor issues to deal with. Too few to mention. Hopefully I'll keep my streak going.
I believe there's a manual/key lock release for the trunk behind the license plate on your 2022. I think this manual lock release was removed on 2023 cars and onwards so you may be in luck if all the electronic releases fail.
I had heard for 2023 cars and newer the Chevy recommended fix is to use a 3 inch hold saw and cut a hole behind the license plate to access the lock. Yikes!

I sold my 2011 5.0 GT when I put deposit on the C8. I have a 96 Thunderbird 4.6 with a lot of goodies
