My local dealership is selling a 2024 1LT for MSRP 70K. That sounds like an excellent deal, but its been sitting on the showroom floor for two weeks. Should I buy tomorrow Monday? I need a push. Thanks
If the car meets your requirements, get it. If it is going to be a 'compromise' because you want it RIGHT NOW, pass. The novelty will wear off and you'll be living with a car you didn't really want.
It depends on if that car is what you want. There is zero chance of flipping it and coming out ahead, so at this point you're an owner. Is the colors right, are there things you have to have that it doesn't? $70k is still $70k and if that much money doesn't bother you in the least, then order exactly what you want. Plenty of MSRP dealers now.
I ORDERED my ‘24 1LT with not one single option! It’s still a fully loaded car! The base cars even have a higher top speed than the Z51 cars (that’s just for bragging rights ) and the car still does 0-60 in under 3 secs.! And now that the ‘24 includes the rearview camera mirror as standard equipment, that was really one of the main reasons to step up to a 2LT in the ‘20-‘23 models…but now you get it in the ‘24 1LT standard!
…being a base 1LT let’s you personalize in ways you couldn’t necessarily do if you did order some of the factory options. For example, you can add an OEM wing to any Stingray variation, but most come with holes drilled for those wings. I prefer “subtle” and always planned to run the GM “non-Z51” Accessory low wing that doesn’t require any holes, and I also added the OEM front splitter. I added an OEM edge red engine cover as well, and then just yesterday, installed the transparent roof. I saved hundreds on all of my OEM parts by using discounted GM parts websites, etc. over ordering them as options on my build…I’m VERY pleased with how my 1LT is turning out, and it’s a great value as it came from the factory as well! Having a base 1LT allows me to modify/add options as funds are available!

I don't get why some people need to ask a group of anonymous people to help make a decision like this for them...Get what you like...
they ask the forums opinion if they should spend XX amount of dollars on a C8 or even on an expensive option? How would the forum have better knowledge of one's personal finance? I understand asking opinions on the value or necessity of an option, but it's your money and only you can make personal financial decisions.

Geez guys! IMO, the OP is asking if a base 1LT is a good deal at $70K? Is this really the way you want to welcome a potential new member of the forum, with currently only 1 post?! …I swear, sometimes Corvette owners live up to the snooty stereotype we get by posting crap like that. It goes hand in hand with all of the responses I got asking about financing rates when people would post “I don’t finance my toys” or “if you can’t pay cash, you can’t afford it”.
I’ve been a Camaro owner since ‘96, this is my first Vette. I swear I never saw crap like this on the Camaro forums I frequent!

Good deal depends on the MSRP, I think some dealers are going to start selling below MSRP. More new vettes on lots now than anytime since the C8 came out.

…There may even be a slim chance you can get it below MSRP…. IF, the dealer ordered it for inventory stock, this won’t apply, but IF it was a customer order that a customer backed out of, you MIGHT be able to get them to go below MSRP. If it’s been on the lot for 2 weeks, that means it was ordered before the $2100 price increase that started 10/2. Not sure if a dealer can apply to GM for price protection on a car not delivered to the person who originally ordered it, but 1LT cars built before 10/2 had a base price of $67,895, Mine did. There may be some wiggle room…
However, ANY NEW C8 Corvette below $70K is still a good deal!
A lot of people are happy with the 1LT, some, like me chose the 2LT for no mostly other reason that the blind spot warning. Enough people feel that they can adjust the mirrors adequately to make that option superfluous, that you may not need it.
either way, a 1LT is still a loaded vehicle and you’ll be happy with it as long as the color choice isn’t wonky.

…rant over…
BandDirector, he is not asking if it’s a good deal. He says in his original post that it is an excellent deal. He is only asking if he should go get it tomorrow without stating if it meets any of his requirements. Don’t think anyone who responded was out of line as his actual question was answered honestly by members here.
If it meets your criteria for the most part, and options are not present you can live without, I'd go for it. Just be sure to picture yourself down the road a year or so without the "I sure wish I had waited and got that option" regrets.

That's basically stripped. You might encounter buyer's remorse down the line unless you are completely sure. $70K plus the out the door costs might seem to be a bargain but it is not chicken feed.
If you have the finances and it's in your budget I would not hesitate. Here's your push! There is nothing wrong with the 1LT. My brother had the base Z06 C7 and IMO it had everything you need for a fun cruiser.

George
Hardly stripped the 1LT for 24 has the rearview camera that most 1LT buyers wanted. Mines a 2LT but would be very happy with a 1LT. To be able to walk in and buy one off the floor it's a great deal when there's a lot of forum members who have waited two years for one.

Big deal.
It is stripped with one or two options at best and that's a fact. The additional '24 features are across the board and are irrelevant. If that is what the OP wants then fine, if he is on the fence and changes his mind he is the one that loses, my post is an effort to help a fellow member who is asking for opinions not to ruffle any 1LT sympathizers' feathers. Common sense always points to discipline and careful thinking not jumping off a cliff.
