I discovered that ProClip makes a phone mount for the C8. I found using the C8 optional charger in my 2LT is simply a PITA because of its odd location and putting my iPhone in the cup holder just doesn’t work either.
I like the simplicity of the ProClip installation but a little concerned how it is held in place by attaching it to the front of the screen and the stress it may put on the screen.
So can anyone who has one tell me about your experience using it? Should I be concerned about the contact it makes with the screen?
It does apply leverage from a dash panel onto the top right corner of the screen for a friction or interference fit. There is padding so the surfaces don't mar. And the lever arm is pliable. Also have one on my Mustang (never spent over $100 for 2 phone mounts!) and the tolerances are so tight that it leads me to believe they did full 3D modeling and basic materials and statics analysis to properly engineer their mounts. They also use Schosche parts so there might be some German engineering in there (if you've been to Germany, you'll know the gulf of difference vs American engineering in their public works).
I can only speculate at best that you'll be fine. But it's at least apparent there is some serious engineering design and thought that goes into their products.
Have had one in my C8 for probably a year now, maybe a year and a half. It's on most of the time, but I've taken it off a couple of times and there's no damage to anything. I recommend it if you want a phone holder.
Their mount is great, their phone holder no so much. It's a slide in from the top which hold the phone fine, but is a PITA to put the phone in and remove. I also didn't trust while cornering in horizontal position.
I had to order their 17mm ball and get my favorite holder (iOtti one touch) .. Now I'm happy.
I tried other mounting systems before finding this marvel.
I just got one, I’m contemplating wether or not to make it a radar detector mount too. I don’t want the evidence of a piece of expensive electronics in the car with a more permanent mount. I’ll just run the power cord up from the 12v and Velcro the detector to a 90 degree plat mounted on the pro clip.

I've been using mine about 5-6 months now. It works. It's a trickier design for them but it works. In the summer the heat tends to loosen up the foam pad that sticks behind it so it comes undone. I've also found if you just place the phone in and DON'T support the holder with your hand, the holder moves. BUT it works nicely there.
Great mount. I had an older charger that mounts to their holder. Wasn't charging well. Called the company and they shipped two new chargers for nothing.

If you do make it a radar detector mount please share pics so I can copy it since I looking for alternative ways to mount a radar detector.
I went for the pro clip but chose the magnetic holder which is solid and works very well. Also use the mag holder in my wife’s Grand Cherokee which also works well. The caveat is make sure your case has a solid metal piece secured well or if you use iPhone that you have a MagSafe case.

Proclip offers a bunch of different mounts, though.
I have the mount, along with their wireless charger that has power clamps which close up and down on the phone. It's good for what it does. I keep Waze and Spotify split screen on the infotainment screen, and keep the phone mounted horizontally in landscape mode, which lines up cleanly with the top of the infotainment bezel. I only run the JBV1 app for the Valentine G2 radar detector.
TBH, I'd probably ditch it if I stopped using the JBV1 app, or gain the ability to run JBV1 with Waze in split screen mode via Android Auto.
An amusing side note, I recently took a turnaround hard enough to change the phone display from landscape to portrait mode. 😎
