Yeah, fine. I didn't say I was going to show up and remove the plate. You guys get too pissy about anyone who disagrees with anything around here. He put up pictures of his vanity tag on a discussion forum. I didn't know this was strictly a "blow sunshine up everyone's ****" forum.
HAHAHAHAHAHHA acts like a douche and gets called out for it, only to whine!!!!!!!
Vanity tags are one of those things that people think makes them look cool but the rest of the world is just like "What a douche".
They can be. But they can also be code. Ways to communicate to those who understand "the code". And they can also be ways of poking fun of established cliques and die-hard fanbois.

Your post makes you look like what you say people think about vanity plate owners....
Vanity plates are like paint color choices or spoiler choices. In other words, it doesn't matter what you or I like or think, it is what the owner likes or thinks.

I thought up a long list of unclaimed plate sequences that ranged from universally understood to niche. My top two choices for awhile were RAYTED R and RAYTD R (Ray is a pun on Stingray and R references the C8.R but also Race/Racing universally plus the overarching pun on Rated R, obviously). Until people eventually claimed both sequences before I could get a C8.
Then I gave up on getting a C8 for a couple years and had a $5k deposit down for an Emira. But while watching the Mandalorian I randomly said **** it I want a C8 and ordered the plate pictured below. Sort of an if you know, you know thing that speaks in code. But that show had 22 million viewers. Not sure how much of the general population would know what "C8 Z51" refers to or the various combinations of custom plate sequences referencing those alphanumeric GM codes. It's common knowledge to us but not to most people outside our echo chamber. My guess would be some number much smaller than that 22 million viewer count would know the meaning behind the alphabet soup of C8/Z51/LT2, etc. Fun to speculate on which sequence (Star Wars or GM code) might be more recognizable but not important. I like the sequence I chose either way, even more than RAYTED R.

When someone states their opinion about something (an inanimate object like a C8 or stuff done to it), it makes sense to not take it personally. But the moment someone states their opinion about someone and then says to not take it personally, that's hypocrisy. Because the focus gets redirected away from the object of discussion and towards the person specifically. AKA "Don't take this personally, but I'm going to say something about you personally that can only be taken personally." That devolves an otherwise civil discussion into a low IQ clown show

I thought it was CODE that you had to have a personalized plate when you get a corvette? Mine gets here in a couple of weeks!
