On the photo below of a '23 Stingray driver's side rear wheel, the caliper is located at 10 o'clock, what is the function of the part mounted on the rotor on the right side at 3 o'clock? I am curious since it appears non-Z51.C8s don't have those parts on the rotors. Excuse my ignorance. Thanks
I stand corrected, I assume the non-Z51 C8's also have the rear parking brakes as well. Does the Z51s have anything additional mounted on the front rotors, not part of the non-Z51? If my memory serves me right, I think I have noticed a difference between the two or perhaps I am confused. Thanks.
Base car: Front: 321mm x 30mm steel rotor clamped by 4-piston, 2-piece caliper. Rear: 339mm x 26mm steel rotor clamped by 4-piston monobloc caliper.
Z51 car: F: 337.82mm x 29.97mm steel rotor clamped by 4-piston monobloc caliper. R: 350mm x 27mm steel rotor clamped by 4-piston monobloc calipers.
Both cars' setups are made by Brembo with the rear calipers being common to both cars. Both share the same electronic parking brake on the rear. Pad compound differs.

You're confused. Both cars have the exact same rear parking brake caliper. There are no additional parts on the fronts of a Z51 car, slightly larger rotor and caliper, but no extra parts.
I look at my build on GM's Corvette website and the parking brakes are visible on the rear wheels but not on the front wheels. Actual C8 photos tell a different story.

There are no parking brake calipers on the front wheels. Post a photo that allegedly shows one.
That's not "an actual photo". That is a computer generated image...
Really?
The "computer generated image" has a correct Accelerate Yellow '24 Corvette, with correct body-color exterior accent, correct machined face forged wheel, correct rotor, correct caliper, and a possible alleged out of place part which whether it belongs there or not, is unusual yes, why it is there heavens know, but nevertheless it is there hence my simple questions. I don't know what it is and apparently you don't either.
Yes, really! I don't know what iit is because it isn't real. Your "photo" appears to be taken from the Corvette Build and Price which uses renderings - no real photos.
The Build & Price tool has been buggy from day 1. Go ahead and select carbon flash mirrors and spoiler. The mirrors won't change until you select an interior view, then they will look black. You're reading too much into this.

Thanks for the lesson.
The build and price renderings aren't always 100% when it comes to details, so they are to be taken with a grain of salt 100%. The colors for example, you look at them there, then see them in person and you really notice how the color looks compared to a render.
So the actual picture of the rear wheel with both the main brake caliper and the secondary parking brake only caliper is correct, and the B&P render is incorrect for whatever reason that may be.

I think that "part" is just a shadow in the image.
I believe that the build and price tool is using Augmented Reality (AR) for its renderings...so it is "close" in most cases but never perfect. I think what you are seeing is just a bug with the limitations of AR.
Yup - there is a phantom component in front wheel of the Z51 on the build and price tool. It's there on the Z51 image, and not there on the same image if the Z51 package is deleted. And it is not a shadow. It even has a bolt head. And its not a duplicate of the rear parking brake caliper. Its apparently an artifact of the process that generates the images in the build and price tool - my Z51 does not have that part.

I am glad I was neither confused or seeing ghosts. Whatever it is, it seems to fit.
