If you bought your 2019 from a dealership I would go there and discuss C8 order times and get their offer on trade. Here, we found the dealership gave a great price on trades on both MB SLK350 and a 2017 C7. Close enough to Autotrader prices and much, much less hassle. I did sell a 2003 Honda Accord privately but that car is NOT in demand, had 220,000 miles and the dealership offer was to tow it away. I got $3000.
I’ve had wonderful luck selling cars on Autotrader. It’s pretty inexpensive. In Missouri you still get the tax credit if you sell to a private individual. Check your State regulations. Sam
I am in the same situation. On line buyers like Carvana were offering wholesale only. I finally decided to put it on consignment at an auto mall in my area. Hoping to get more plus the tax differential. Good luck.
I learned years ago that there are 3 factors a deal is based 9n. Trade in, financing and price. They are a balanced triangle. When you deal the sales team just slides rhe line one way or another. If you try to deal all at once you will never know where you are at deal wise. Pick one factor and deal on it. I typically pick price and go wholesale on trade. I don't finance. No matter what they tell you, they are adjusting another factor. If they give you great price, trade will be affected, and vice versa. You are rarely getting better than wholesale in reality.
Greetings!!! It’s been a long time since I posted in the forum. Since I am now retired I have some new found freedom but need some advice. I have a 2019, C7, ZO6 with 5000 mi. It’s basically immaculate and has never seen a drop of rain….Torch Red, standard 7 speed. I want to purchase a C8, either 2023 or 2024 2LT. Should I trade it or sell through for example Carvana. Getting close to the end of the year could I expect the dealer to sharpen his pencil on a 2023? Thanx for your input!!! Dr Bob
Dr. Bob, you didn't mention if it's a coupe or convertible.
To me it's a good idea to see what is selling on the market so when you get your offer you know if it's a lowball offer or not.
If you go to autotrader, and enter 2019 Z06 w/ manual transmission there are 13 for sale right now. There's 9 w/ mileage under 15k. You could narrow it down more w/ coupe or convertible.
Lowest is $76k. High is $125k which seems really out of place.
I sold my first C8 to a wholesaler since I was not doing a trade-in. The wholesaler offered a price at least $5k higher then the next best offer.
I sold my 2nd C8 to the dealer that I ordered my Z06 from. That dealer did not offer the best price even considering tax offset. They called around to their known customers and didn’t find strong interest. The best price I received was from Corvette World here in Houston. I decided to go the trade-in route when my dealer agreed to my suggestion that they raise their offer to me and I would connect them with a buyer who would pay $5k more. This got me the best possible deal ($1k more with the tax savings), and the dealer made $5k and Corvette World got the car the same day for the price they offered. Everyone wins.

I’ve had good luck selling two cars on eBay Motors. I like it because you don’t divulge any of your personal information to potential buyers until you choose to, you can set your starting bid high enough to keep the tire kickers away, and you can put a reserve on it (what you’ll actually accept for the car).
I sold a 15 C7 in 2019 in 11 days for $1k over my reserve and a 14 MB E350 AMG in 2021 in ten days for my reserve. The guy who bought my C7 sent an enclosed trailer to pick it up after his funds cleared my bank and the guy who bought my MB flew in, met me at his bank, handed me a bank check, and drove it home. Easy deals.
