Default Just got my C8!

I have a 2003 AE that I absolutely love....but found a good deal on a 2021 C8 Red Mist Convertible with 6100 miles, Z51, Mag ride, and Front Lift. So I picked it up yesterday and WOW what a difference and what a car! Now I just need to decide if I want to sell or keep the C5!

Keep the C5 if possible. Youll need something to drive when the C8 trans needs replacement.

I did the same, C5 was always my favorite style probably bc of my age, but the C8 is one awesome machine almost 5k miles later. Then you got negative Nancy up there with the transmission comment.

Congratulations and enjoy! You’ll be selling the C5 soon or keeping it if you have space.

let me tell you in a 2000 miles you wont even look twice at your C5, When you drive it youlll realize how outdated it really is .
SELL IT ,before it deterotes . Most likely though the best time to sell will be next spring

Don't sell the C5. Been there done that trading for a C7. Went and got it back! The C5s have a personality all their own. Dated yes,, but sometimes thats a good thing.

Is this because GM has had to replace OVER 100,000 DCTs so far?

OP, a great find on the C8-congratulations!....I too have a 2021 red mist-incredible color, isn't it?

Is that magnetic red on your C5? Really like the way you kept the red theme going. All 3 of our current 4 wheel vehicles are some variant of red....

Don't let the talk about DCT issues deter you. I too had a DCT issue at 26 miles...It was (in my case) easily resolved. The DCT trans from Tremec is wonderful. I drive manual mode exclusively, and the shift times are fantastic. I can triple downshift rapidly when approaching a slower corner, and the gearing is exactly where I want it to be in the blink of an eye. Mid-corner shifts are a non-event.

Corvette engineering could have cheapened out and put an auto trans in the C8. I would never have bought this car if they had done that.

Enjoy!

Just imagine how beautiful the C8 would have been if they'd copied the aesthetic of the C5, modified for ME placement, and added some untrusive projector headlights (not just pop-up replacements). I feel that the body-color C-pillars that were introduced with the 7th gen really started to degrade the overall look. Probably why I love the blacktop look on the C8.
