I have a 2023 2LT and I'm quite satisfied with the sound system the car comes with and it's 14 speakers in such a tiny cockpit, but I've read in many posts that some C8 owners are not happy with it. I was recently walking through a couple of high end dealerships and was shocked to see such expensive cars come with 6 and 4 speakers!!!! Imagine paying over 600K (US) and only getting 6 speakers, or the Lambo for 375K and only getting 4 speakers!!! I know we don't buy a car for the amount of speakers, but I can't imagine the sound system in these 2 cars match the price for the car.....I 6 speakers 4 speakers
ive got to say I am very happy with my 14 speaker Bose system, is it perfect no, but it is closer than any car I have owned with a stock stereo system...............this tiny cockpit is such a difficult space to properly cover I think they did an excellent job
midrange and bass are muddled typical bose crap. The placement of the speakers is fine just not the execution of the sound. Sometimes all I want is the exhaust singing other times the tunes
I was thinking about getting that Ferarri for Christmas but ...thanks for the warning. Re the C8 I suppose 15 speakers would be better or just too many?
Quantity of speakers doesn’t necessarily mean quality. Nonetheless, I find the C8 system to be very source dependent. Sirius might not be the best, but high fidelity music files sound very good IMO.
Has nothing to do with the number of speakers. If they have no real bass to them, and they crackle when you get it loud, it could have 50 speakers and still sound like crap. The 10 speaker Bose sounds merely ok when the top is on and the windows are up. Take the top off and the windows down, and it sounds like headphones pulled 2 inches away from your ears...
Its just not a great system. I have heard better stock systems in a Camry...
I am also very happy with the sound system. I believe the people unhappy like to have the volume very high and find distortion there.
I have had my 2024 HTC for just over 2 months. I am very happy with the car, in&out, performance, and exceptional handling.
So glad I didn't keep the 2017 Grand Sport, mostly because of the stiff ride!
The number of speakers has NOTHING to do with the quality of sound. LOL. My home audio system has two speakers, each of which has 3 drivers, and sounds 1000 times better than the Bose.
But it appears Bose knows what specs impress people, and low distortion and flat frequency response apparently aren't what buyers pay attention to. The number of speakers and total amplifier power (using bogus measurement methods) are what most buyers pay attention to.
For a Bose system, the one in the C8 sounds pretty darn good, but it's anything but high-end audio quality. Given the noise level in the cabin, it's probably as good as needed.

Ron, I don't listen at high volume so distortion is not a problem. I listen for the balance, clarity, and tone of all instruments, especially the bass. Bass is the hardest sound to produce without distortion. I know this because I played bass in a band for 10 years, so that is what I listen for.
I hear a song in my C8, then play the same song in my wife's Toyota Sienna, and immediately notice the bass sound in the Toyota is way better. I have tried every adjustment on my C8 to improve the sound, it just is not there. I was expecting a lot more out of the 2LT premium sound system.

Spot on. The speakers have tiny magnets, and are very shallow, and there isn't enough space in there to create a decent acoustic chamber behind each speaker... You can listen to it in the driveway at decent sound levels and it sounds ok... But go down the road with the top off and it might as well not even be there... it's frankly embarrassing for a car costing anywhere from $70k to $150k...
I'm happy with it as well. And, so are the people that have ridden in the car. I didn't buy the car for the stereo I bought it for the performance.
I also own several more higher end cars and, truth be told, their stereo system are subpar. Burmester and/or Harmon Kardon.
"I didn't buy the car for the stereo I bought it for the performance" Absolutely true. I would have bought the car without any stereo. It's the performance, style, design, and driving experience that make the car nothing short of fantastic. I was just expecting a lot more from the stereo. I know, I know the answer: turn it down, open the exhaust and let it rip.
Yeah I have a 1LT with only 10 speakers. I don't know, I like good sound and like my music in the car and the ablity to play it fairly loud sometimes. That being said, I haven't opted for, or felt the need for an aftermarket car sound system since the 80's.
